Congrats Chris! It has gone to a great home and a very astute collector. Will be interested to hear how the driving experience compares to your previous 1975 Turbo 3.0. And your photo with stablemates is fantastic...each is a unique driving experience.
Thanks for the kind words Ryan! i went on a long drive today. The car feels great. The most noticeable difference from the 75 is the tire size. You really notice the 205s vs 185s up front and overall tire grip. It weights the steering a bit more and has a more planted feel whereas the 75 steering feels lighter. They are both great in their own way. The cars is on Michelins currently and i’ll get it on Pirellis eventually. Engine and power delivery is identical. Both cars have very strong engines with great boost!

And then, when you purchased the car with such an option, should you have them all or could you have only the "turbo" writing on the rear fenders as the green car pictured, without the stripes on the doors and front fenders? Thank you Ciao
Dear Albert, those stickers were available in white (M-Number 394) and black (M-Number 393), only as a complete set. However they may have been ordered in other colours as well (via "Z-Antrag"). I think those stickers emphasize the shape of the chassis and the width of the rear fenders even more!
Thankyou, Tom. I suppose theye were covered by a clear coat layer, isn't it? My car was born with 394 option (white stickers), but today hasn't it anymore: I'm evaluating if putting them back or not. Can't find a picture with the white stickers, so I asked here if they exhisted Thankyou again Ciao
a source for those stickers, but not in white https://sierramadrecollection.com/products/porsche-script-body-decals-livery-pack-911-930-turbo-75-89-p32042?variant=39801403310138 Ciao
just ordered my body turbo stickers here: https://www.carbone.pl/en/products/script-body-decals-livery-pack-for-3-0-3-3-930-486 They will produce them in every color you want Ciao e grazie a tutti Alberto
Hi Alberto, great to hear! The stickers were applied to the car at the very end. There is no layer or cover on them whatsoever. I ordered mine here: https://www.konradsheim.at/de/accessoires/s-0005 Seems to be the closest to the original ones. Btw, what colour does your turbo have? Looks like sienna metallic...
Thanks Tom: my car is a special custom color, paint to sample, "Diamant Sarah". Let's see how they will look in white: I think in black they would have looked better, but I want the car to be as it leaved the factory so... Thank you again for your help Ciao Image Unavailable, Please Login

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1977-porsche-turbo-carrera-3-0/#comments-anchor Interesting Japan spec car posted on BAT. A lot of info shared that I did not know about the spec on the 77 cars on Japan - Rear 1 piece seat - Steering wheel - No snorkel washers
Japanese spec cars were indeed quite unique compared to other markets. However, I would like to see any documentation that shows 1977 Turbos with Japanese equipment option did not receive snorkels. I have never heard that. This Turbo is equipped with the snorkel washer switch. Additionally, given the front valence and fog lights were changed to a later style, it seems strange.
This car has a bunch of incorrect parts. Pretty much the whole frt bumper comes from a later model. One will notice flush-style foglights (84+), as well as headlight washing system switch on the dash as Rynoshark mentioned above. Unfortunately the pump for washing fluid is gone from the trunk part too; this item is nla and very hard to get. Sterring wheel should be 3-spoke ; the wheel that is mounted in this car has never been offered on turbo models. Rear wiper arm stands out too high. Either pivot mounted incorrectly or a later pivot mounted after getting it modified to work with the earlier wiper setup. Wheel rims and 6 and 7 inch wide and come from SC or carrera 3.2 model. Rear seat, however, is indeed Japan market-specific. Did not spend too much time with these pics so perhaps there's more that would need attention of potential buyer if tge intent was bringing it to factory spec.
I question your comment on the steering wheel. The seller claims he has the part number for it as a Japanese-market specific "safety steering wheel" although what makes it safer is beyond me...
Well, i would point onto Ryan Snodgrass book, section dedicated to "Driver controls" as a credible source of info. Only 3-spoke wheel is mentioned there - one that comes from carrera 2.7 (hub-centric, "fatty" wheel, during early 75) and later, eccentric one, for which also a raised hub version was offered. No mention of 4-spoke wheel there, nor i saw any of these in any of 930's, including Japan market cars (which of course is much less of a credible info source, though ).
Nice 3 liter turbo here: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1976-porsche-930-turbo-carrera-23/ Funny enough, I knew the previous owner (and still know his younger brother).
Hi! I am the owner of 9305700048. Is it possible to buy the membran for the Airesearch wastegate on the early cars somewhere?

Everyone! My 77 is all original, though not installed I have the thermal reactors, the first exhaust, the 3LDZ turbo charger... BUT I am missing an original 77 timestamp speedometer, which was switched for the km/h one for driving in Germany in 84. Does anyone have a 77 timestamp speedo they don't need?
This was on this hopeless Monaco online auction when Covid had started with RMS,, happy we did not sell the car, the reserve was 325,000 euros and the buyer fee was 15%,, then BAT is 10 times better for selling cars on auctioen! This was the first online auction for RMS, the car that was sold was a big collection without reserve

There appears to be an original 1975 Turbo German owner's manual in the RM White Collection auction. Rare chance to acquire one: https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/wc24/the-white-collection---online/lots/n1653-porsche-owners-literature-including-356c-911-912-914-924-and-turbo/1455855
Several people also knew what they were bidding on! This is the exceptionally rare Porsche luggage set for the mid-1970s, which is uniquely unbranded so people often don't know what it is (and probably many have just been thrown out). I bid, since I'm missing several pieces, but with no luck. Image Unavailable, Please Login
