AHHHH SNORKELS!!!!! thanks Joe. i know the eighty's 911 turbos had rear badge delete as an option but not sure of the 3.0s.
I thought that the wings on 3.0 cars were called Whale Tails and the 3.3 cars had Tea Trays. All 3 are iconic.
If he was driving a 930, as the story goes, the date on this mugshot proves it was a 3.0 Image Unavailable, Please Login

My wife worked for MS many years ago and met Bill. She wishes she knew this back then to rib him on it.
Could have been an early 78, 3.3 litre production (Sep/Nov/Dec 77) but definately not the '79 930 that recently sold for $80K. Rich
Rich, out of respect to this thread, please take the information you have on the '79 to the 1979 Porsche 930 thread I am starting, as this particular year is the one I am most interested in, and apparently are creating a solid 'stir' in the P-car story.
Sorry, just making a point that Bill might not have been driving a 3 litre based on the mug shot date since the 78's were already being produced for 3-months by Dec 77.
hope I didn't come off as harsh, sorry if it seemed that way, and I wanna hear moar about this $80K sale of a '79 and aware Sloan has one (low mileage - with a six figure a$k). Now we have a place to discuss these two stories!
