I think what you are referring to was only on the early 512tr models. The later models like the 94 have a better connection on the cam cover. I know for a fact because I updated my 92. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
How difficult is it to take that apart? Can it all be done from inside the trunk or do I have to remove the front clip?
Well, it's now been over 200 miles since the new clutch release bearing and the 512TR is running beautifully (and on all 12 cylinders!). As promised, I have computed the actual cost of this DIY Major Service adventure. Check it out in the thread "Real Cost of 512TR DIY Major Service" in this section. I also have some extra service parts which I will list in classified section if anyone is interested. Thanks to all for the help, advice and company on this adventure. See you in another 40,000 miles! Jim
I should give a special thanks to Ray Garbe at TRutlands, Daniel at Ricambi, Joe and Gretchen at Polar Bear Inc, John DiGiacoma at East Coast Jaguar, Dave Helms and Travis at Scuderia Rampante and Jim Wieczorek at Wizard cooling as well as super F-Chatters Tim Fulmer and Clyde Romero.
