So, Hopefully this has not been posted, but help me out even if it has. Have a look at the attached photo of a '94 euro 355. The 355 began production in May of 1994. My question to the group is on the '94 euro's that were made, did they have a passenger airbag? I know the early 3 spoke steering wheel obviously did not have an airbag. So what was the dash like under the passenger airbag cover area? Was the area hollow like a glove box? How much room is behind the leather top plate that normally has the word "airbag" embossed into it? Who has a '94 that can share more photos and give me an update on the dash? And as a related question. What did the 355 challenge cars of all years do with the 2 airbags? I am curious about this because I will never replace mine with "new" units and my guess is that they have expired after 20 years... Thanks. Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
It's a glove box just like the 348 had. I'm not 100% sure but I think a lot of euro 355 had a glove box and no pass air bag not just the 94s.
Ferrari has never put much emphasis on safety, and I can not imagine that there is an airbag in that steering wheel. Glove box - perhaps? Most EU cars are better specked when it comes to safety, compared to US cars.
CH cars had a driver and passenger air bag delete available...these were Ferrari parts made available to all customer/dealer converted cars
Can a 348 owner post a photo of the glovebox in the dash - open and closed with some closeups? Are there buttons to open it or does it use a spring to push on to open and close? Robb
I have an Italian spec F355. First registered Nov. 1994. There is no passenger or driver airbag. The glove box lid springs open and closed, there is a small gas strut in there to hold it open and keep it shut. I would be happy to post pics but my car has just gone into the shop for a new windscreen and having some cosmetic stuff done like stone chips etc. When I get it back I can take some close ups.
THANKS for the response Bob. Please post photos of your car's glove box when you get it back. Looking forward to seeing the difference. Robb
Thanks Goth....maybe next year, when I recover some from the car wreck, I am going to try and make to one of the stooge parties in Cali.
I am sorry but I cannot reply to your question...it is against forum rules and I just got back from being banned for a week for helping out an fchatter on a part.
Sorry you got banned Bruce, I'm sure it wasn't called for. You're a really great guy to deal with! Your parts are top notch and all Fchatters will feel good about dealing with you. No affiliation, just a happy customer.
I have a 1995 German Spec F355GTS and my passenger side looks like on your picture. There is no glove-box, there is a passenger airbag and I have the drivers airbag as well. Bjoern
Yes, sorry. I got the car back, but forgot to take pics. Me and the car are in different countries right now. As soon as I'm back home will take photos and post them here. Bob.
Here's my 348. A little different but the early no airbag 355 was basically the same. I'm missing my shock in the picture. need a new one. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
finally back in town, so here are some pictures of my 1994 F355's glove box. I still didn't get a chance to give the interior a good clean since it came back from the body shop, but since you've been waiting a while for the pics I went ahead...
