Just put my first tank of the stuff in my 1999 Porsche 996 and was wondering if any of you other car guys here in Canada where HUSKY has retail stations have tried it ?

It has a minor amount of ethanol in it........but according to PAG this is OK if it is less than a certain percentage.

I didn't notice anything different except for a smoother idle (a really noticeable difference actually)...........not that I was expecting a significant change either.......but given that we are here at some 3500' above sea level and our car's computers are already working at maximum advance.......I imagine every little bit helps.

I've tried it before and didn't really notice too much difference. When you put 100LL avgas in a non-catalytic-equiped car, then you really notice how smooth it gets but then its also sluggish... Naturally. Should be mixed with regular gas. Really, no point to using that stuff.

Higher the octane number, the slower it is to burn, hence, less likely to detonate or "ping". Yes, good for higher altitudes.

Most fuel components (pumps/filters/hoses etc...) on cars available today can handle a maximum of about 10% per volume of an alcohol-based fuel (I suppose this includes Ethanols and Methanols). Any greater concentration and the rubber parts/pieces of these components will suffer.

They're a gas station from a national chain here in Calgary that will sell you something like 110 octane racing gas (thru the back door in 5 gallon containers).........lots of my client go there.
