Guys: US model 1995 348. Trying to pull ECU codes but CELs never flash after ECU buttons pushed. After each ECU button pushed that CEL remains constantly lighted and never flashes. Very recent engine-out service by excellent Ferrari specialist. First drive after service both CELs came on and remain on. I’m trying to do the ECU diagnostics but, after pushing the ECU buttons, the CELs never flash. Thanks for your suggestions. Roger
Pushing and holding for for 5 seconds to start the process? Did your excellent Ferrari specialist test drive the car, seems odd he did not see it?
Please disregard my message. Some earlier owner or mechanic had disconnected the test buttons from the ECUs. I originally pushed the test buttons through the vent holes in the cover so as to avoid removing the cover. After I sent this earlier message I removed the cover to determine if the connections needed Deoxit and found the button wiring disconnected. Reconnected and was able to successfully read the codes. Thank you.
Thanks for your reply. Car drove fine returning from the drive home from the specialist but when I drove it for the first time after, about a week later, CELs came on and remained on. I just read the codes (I found an earlier owner or mechanic had disconnected the test buttons from the ECU) and 4121 and 1111 are on both sides. Thanks again. Roger
4121 - cats too hot 1111 - MAF But the car typically wouldn't idle well or respond to throttle if the MAFs were out.
According to the manual: 4121 - Exhaust temperature ECU (bad or disconnected Thermocouple ECU) 4122 - Exhaust temperature too high These two codes do not trigger the CEL-s so look at the cause of 1111 (the MAF-s).
