Carfax shows an odometer inconsitency but it looks like it was probably a clerical error... mileage on 11/24/1997 shows 20,000 on the dot, then 02/09/1999 shows 11,200...

It shows it as a 2 owner car (6.5 years first owner, then 6 year lease -- would that mean one person leased it, or would that just mean it was owned by the leasing company for 6 years?).

Pretty car in black/tan. Low $50K sounds OK.

Why do you think the odometer discrepancy is a clerical error?

Just based on it being exactly "20,000".

What other way would there be to research this? It looks like it lived in Kansas during that discrpency -- find the Ferrari dealer that serviced it then and see if they still have records?

Sounds about right. When I registered in Kentucky, I had to reassure the DMV guy three times that a 1994 car could indeed have 49,000 ORIGINAL miles!!!

From what I understand the service records confirm the actual mileage is correct -- working on getting those records so we'll see. Having a PPI done on Friday @ Miller Motorcars.

Did it come on the '94 model? Or was it an option overall?

There you are. When I registered "Baby" w/ ,<17K on a '95 348 Spider w/ California DMV, I got an "Atta Boy!"

    That Nero's lookin' pretty good.

IMHO it looks better without the badge.

For some reason, I can't stand model designations... but I LOVE the Scuderia shields!!! Go figure.

Another differance from 94 to 95 seems to be the cover for the top "boot" 93 and 94 seem to have come with black and 95's with tan. And R134a in the AC system
My 95 does not have the script or the 348, PO took off all rear emplems for a cleaner look

from what i've seen (in person) and read (in print) the '94 spiders were actually delvered in march-april of 1993. the first models had the script on the engine bay cover. this is what i've seen in person @ continental autosports (continental classic motors, back then) & lake forest sportscars. i've observed that the spiders that were assembled in MY 1994 didn't have the moniker on back.

    just my observation.

My 1995 348 spider has the tan cover and no script on the rear deck lid.

Regrets, I lied. There's no external 348 identia of any kind on my '95 348 Spider. As noted in the other thread that's doing a survey, it's on the dash. Glove box?
