Hi all, after suffering the terrible SoCal Winter weather (80+) I have come to realise my right side radiator fan doesn't seem to come on. Hoping that it's demise is the result of something like a fuse...., does anyone know where the fuse actually is??? Many Thanks in advance, Dave ps. NO! it is not in the front fuse block!
From memory there are two fuses one for each fan and they are located in the passenger footwell area - will try to find a picture
The R/H fan is relay "R" - fuse 20 The L/H fan is relay "Q" - fuse 23 Image Unavailable, Please Login
Dave, mine blew a fuse once and I'm 99% sure it was in the engine bay...and another time the plug/joiner whatever you want to call it (at the fan) had melted from the load. The auto elec told me it was quite a common thing.
Dave, Just a thought - You know the left fan is kindof your primary - the right one will only come on as a secondary if needed. I can think of only a few times (even in the summer) that I remember my right coming on. I do not remember exactly - but I think it only comes on after the temp reaches 200 or something like that. Did you used to hear it coming on - where now it is not? In that case - probably the fuse. If not - could be it is not needed. I would test mine right now for you - but at 15 degrees and 8 inches of snow - I don't think either would come on Rich
Ferrari_uk_tech is perfectly correct. In the passenger footwell. Pull the carpet back and unscrew 1 or 2 hex screws and a panel falls forward. Fuse numbers are correct also .. standard 30 amp as I recall. Identical problem as me ~ 3 months ago. Left worked great, right never started. Driving was OK, but stopping / slow traffic and the needle went up easily .... never boiled, but close to the red. Common problem in 355's. Left fan works off water temp, and the right of oil temp I think. Left comes on first then the right one at a slightly higher temp. No fuses in the 'toolkit' ... now I've got a bunch! Fuses are standard issue from any Autozone etc. Regards, Pete
