Well I'm guessing it won't get any closer than AZ or NV as it is a Euro car according to the VIN. No mention of CARB/BAR plate on it so 49 state car at best IMHO - did a quick check and don't see "EPA" or "DOT" mentioned in the ad either. Sorry mate. Cheers Kevin
I noticed that also. The 1st VIN = U.S. Version. Later in the Ad the corrected VIN = Euro Makes you go Hmmmmmmm. What else is incorrect ?
It has the orange side marker lights just behind the front wheel... these only came on Euro 355s (all 360s have them, not sure about the rest). Seems like a thorough PPI and a check to make sure it's been properly federalized are in order here. -R
The side marker reflectors also don't look the same size and dimensions as the standard US ones. Either way, the GTS is my favorite version of the F355. Good luck with the sale.
dealers are famous for odometer rollback, i wouldnt trust a dealer as far as i could spit, if that car has problems you could dump 20K into it with no problem, then you have a 95 euro that you have 76K in, and its not such a good deal anymore always try to buy your F car from a privet party, preferably the original owner
My view is slightly different. I agree that with an regular-way exotic car broker you're on you're own, and in this instance, might as well save the $'s and try to buy a similar car from a private party. However, an authorized Ferrari dealer can not only inspect and service the car ahead of a sale to you, but can also provide recourse in the event of a problem early on during ownership. Sometimes, the premium is justified for peace of mind...and for the sake of building a relationship. YMMV.
Wow, I'd never seen the NO-ABS button before, see bottom right hand corner: Image Unavailable, Please Login
That was my view too, pay a premium to have peace of mind, especially for a Ferrari. Due to my last purchase experiance at a Ferrari dealer (I purchased 2 cars previously from them and each of them had some issues) however that has changed. They sold me a car (last one I bought from them and the last one I will ever buy from them) that they obviously never properly inspected and as a result I have a car that does not have proper bumpers on it. I have asked them to make good on this problem that they put on my lap due to their lack of proper inspection but they just dismissed me and basically told me to go away. I have gone away, far away from that Ferrari dealership. Based on this experiance any future purchases of high end cars from me even if its from an authorized dealer of said car will aways get a 2nd look from an indpedent mechanic before I purchase it.
Sorry to hear that. I wonder if part of their cavalier attitude stems from the fact that they have an oligopoly of sorts in the market - how many dealers are in and around the area? Not many, I presume.
I once bought a Euro car- a 308QV- 1985. The car had MANY issues, (mostly paperwork items). The advice I got from everyone was "run, don't walk". I did a few MONTHs of DD, and in the end, bought the car, then I spent a yeaar or so, of straightening out the paperwork, and addressing the few small issues the car had. In the end, I wound up with a great car! It cost me almost nothing extra to do the odds and ends, but my QV is still sorely missed around here. I've long ago sold it, (to another F-Chat member), but I'd have it back in a second. Not advising anone to BUY the car, but do your own DD.
Doesn't the car look 'racked'? If you look at how the top frame of the windshield lines up with the back of the roof (with the targa top out), it appears the windshield on the driver side is higher. It appears most evident on the straight on photos (#9 and #10).
It does a bit, yes. Also, look at the view of the back bumper. Their appears to be more gap on the left side than the right.
Good catch, problem with this being a Euro car is how to check records overseas? Can't do carfax or anything.
You presumed correctly there are only 2, one east of me by about 2 hours and 1 west of me by about 4 hours.
