Anyone know the story with the one removeable flange that should be included when buying new Ferrari headers? I can't seem to find out whether this part is a separate part that shoul've been ordered at the same time as the headers. Or should it have been included in the order? There are two flanges on each header and only one removeable one on one of the headers

I'm getting to the point where i just want my car to be fixed, and my mechanic is telling me that he can cut the tube w/flange off the old header and weld it to the new one. Custom fit and I don't have to wait another week to use my car.

Anyone know if this is a smart thing to do or not?

    Thanks

Sounds like it gets the job done.

One is removable and should be swapped over from the old header.

Should not require cutting , welding or buying new parts.

Looks like someone welded a flange to the old header where the removable one should be. Is the removable flange a purchasable part? Is this a common practice?

Just to be sure you're on the right track, the drivers side flange to the bypass pipe is removable, the passenger side is welded. the ceramic thick gasket thing is different too, so you may or may not need to buy one.

Problem solved! It turns out that the original header DID have the flange/coller on it. My mechanic removed it and moounted it on the new header and is completing the job as we speak. Thanks for your help guys. Can't wait to get my car back.
