After running great yesterday while driving home I hit heavy traffic. I noticed that a slow acceleration and low RPM the car picked up a miss. I hate that sinking feeling that at any minute, the car might just cut-out & leave you stranded.

I've seen a bunch of threads on here about it.
So far, I've cleaned a bunch of the contacts (RPM Sensor, MAP, etc) and pulled the plugs. They look fine. I don't see any arcing marks on the heads/covers so I'm thinking the wires are fine too. So I'm about to let her warm up & see if the miss is still there.

If it is, normally I'd use an inductive timing light to watch the firing. I've read on a couple threads to use a scope. I presume that's oscilloscope. The question is how? Off an inductive pickup? Or is there a test point?

    thx.

I know you said your wires looked fine, but test them with an ohms tester for continuity. Some times its hard to see a problem but it will show up on the ohms test.

I tested for continuity like 2 months ago. They were fine, but I should probably check them again.

The cleaning contacts didn't help. At low RPM she misses/stumbles. An occasionally a small burp out the exhaust.

She got a full tank today just in case I picked up bad gas.
I'll check for any ODB codes too even though there's no CEL lights.
And I'll put a timing light on each wire.

Nobody ever put an oscilloscope on the wires?

    Update: No OBD codes either.

I gave up & took the car to Arena motors. 5 minutes later, he diagnosed it as failing wires. A new set came in from Kingsborne today. New plugs & wires are on. We'll warm her up & check her out a little later. My fingers are crossed.
