Found myself an F355 and my Maserati has a few potential sales so maybe it'll happen sooner than later. Anyways, I know what I want to pay for the car but I want to get some actual feedback on what you would pay for it. 96 F355B, 15k miles, major done last year, in perfect condition 100% clean. Red/tan I've already got my mind set on a price but want to get some feedback from our community to help make my final decision. It's priced much higher than most but I can trust the dealer I'm getting it from.
If it's the one I'm thinking of....the price is way too high IMHO, by about 10k to 15k too high. Also, I was not impressed at all with the big honking black stereo speakers cut into the lower door panels...was interested until I saw those. I would think $70k TOPS, especially considering it's a '96 -- I was thinking more in the mid to high 60's range.
It's probably the one your thinking of. The listed price is way too high but I prefer to buy from this dealer just because they've given me the best service. I don't mind paying $5-6k more then it's worth but not what their asking. If you can send me more information on the car, I'd appreciate it. Just send me a PM I'm assuming it's the one at FOCF on consign.
No more than $60k, and even then I'd likely pass. The early F355 defective heads problem would scare me off, better to just spend a little more and get a 97+.
96 F355B, 15k miles, major done last year, in perfect condition 100% clean. Red/tan For a 96 355B with low mileage and if that is the 30k major service and not the 15k I would pay in the mid to high 60k range if it passes a PPI.
i may get flamed but my neighbor sold his 97 berlinetta w/ roll bar, f-40 front brakes, race seat, giallo w/ 11k miles...3 track days only. car was very, very nice. $55k sold to a guy in tn. this is true. so, i'm not certain where the real money is?
You will pay much more from an authorized dealer but when it comes time to sell, they also get you more. Two way street. When a new model comes out, if you have a good relationship you can get it and make some money back or get the car you want without paying outrageous prices due to availability. Thanks for the input guys. My limit was going to be around $74k. I know I can get the car in other places for MUCH cheaper. But I prefer to deal with this dealer. IMO higher price is worth service/relationship at times.
Yes, that would be the one. I completely agree with you regarding service / sales "after the sale" at FoCF. They've always been extremely fair, honest, and helpful in all respects with all our dealings -- especially John Sliman, Dean, Gabe, and Doug -- they've always gone the extra mile. And, yes, if you're a prior customer, they will offer discounting and other special customer incentives as a bonus. With regards to the '96 355 B -- I'm not personally familiar with the car, nor have I spoken with anyone at FoCF regarding this vehicle. Only noticed it added to their inventory this past Monday. I have been in contact with John there regarding two different vehicles (a Maserati GrandSport and a '87 328 GTS), and they were very helpful. Still thinking it over at this point. We'll be stopping in around Feb. 3rd or 4th while in town for the Cars For The Cure show, and will take a closer look at that time. Would be happy to check out the 355 for you if you'd like (assuming that it's still for sale then). Let me know... John Sliman is great to deal with IMHO...tell him I said so.
