First off I should ask if anyone has ever seen one in the flesh. Secondly, is there a company that still makes them?

    Thanks,

    Yes........don't go there.

I sold 964's when they were new. Installing the hardtop requires you to go to the dealer where they MUST REMOVE the soft top and most of it's mechanism beforehand........then they fit the hardtop.

So, you've got to convince the dealer to store your hardtop year round for free, or pay for that, or pay for the transport of it to and from your place to the dealer, plus the 5-6 hours of labor each time you want to R+R the damn thing.

IT IS NOT LIKE THE MERCEDES 380/560SL.........where you and a buddy can do it in 15 minutes.

    I drink Jack Daniels........thank you. :D

I think it would be tough to find one that looked good. Strosek tops actually burn my eyes when I look at them. I found this one... it's not too bad IMO. I'm concerned about the quality though. I wish you you didn't have to take the cloth top off though....
