Listed on E bay above, don't know how to post the link. 44 K miles, $6 K spent on the top and still does not work ? I think this is close to me, mentions Gran Turismo in Wilsonville. Interesting ...... Description sounds like a typical used car dealer .... Whatever that is. No mention of what services when. He does mention F chat in the post, have we seen this car before ?
just copy the link and paste it in your reply... I saw this car on eBay yesterday. He mentioned F-chat, but I couldn't find any threads. Something didn't sit right with me when reading the description. Plus $6K spent on the top and still inoperable? who was working on this car? Another side note (not that it really matters), but I can't stand those wheels! just my opinion
Apparently this car, ZFFXR48A3V0106671, was sold by hendrick cars out of Charlotte, NC, in Oct. 2013 for $49,995. At that time it was advertised with 44,024 miles. Now listed with 44,688 miles. That was an expensive 660 miles!
$4300 for a solenoid valve? And it still doesn't work? Wow! Makes me happy that I converted my non-op top to manual.
It smells just fine. Its probably a great starter Ferrari. Don't be scared by a cheap price, not everyone is trying to gouge as a seller. I would convert to a manual roof and just forget about any silly top issues. But I also never get ppis on any cars I buy so don't take my advice lmao.
I found listings from Florida, a couple of years old with the mileage stated as: 44,750. Also, what's the deal with those wheels? No way they resemble anything close to an 8k setup. I would love an entry point of 35k. I'm just worried that would/could turn into 50k in a blink.
It will turn to 50k easily if you pay a dealer to do any repairs. If the engine is healthy there isn't much to lose for 35.
Comparing pics through the years on the other listings, it looks like the interior went down hill fast, without putting on mileage. The potential stickies are now covered in a faux wrap. Can those parts be resorted now? I would love tackle a project like this, and drive as I get it sorted. But it looks like a lot of unknowns, something is bothering about the miles. That being said, for 30k I'd love to get my Ferrari education first hand. How much do you think it would cost to bring it up to par for a nice driver? I'd think wheels, interior, and an updated service are needed at a minimum. With a quasi DIY approach do you think 8-10k is in the right ballpark? Also, was this a Canadian or Euro car, with the services being in French?
Search threads by TR512, think I got that right. Look for spider roof questions, he has step by step instructions.
See the thread above for DIY info. Unfortunately I'm not a DIYer, so I paid a shop four hours to do the work and give me a box of parts.
