Hi all! Long time member here. Have learned a ton from the forum. I own a 97 F355 Spider that has been trouble free since I purchased it 3 years ago. Last month a major service was done to the engine and everything went without a glitch. The car started just fine the test drive was ok. I decided to get rid of an old cellular phone installation and noticed when starting to pull apart the center console that there was additional wiring there. I tracked some cables to a GPS antenna fixed to the upper part of the center leather cover of the top pump. Additional there was an external speaker for the old Nokia setup as well as a microphone. On top of that a small antenna was fixed to the windshield. This antenna I assumed was part of the cellular phone hands free setup so I decided to get rid of it. After further inspection, I noticed that the GPS antenna and the antenna that was fixed to the windshield belonged to an Alpine module. I assume that this model is a GPS tracking device or immobilizer of some sort. The model number of the module is 8231208 and I couldn't get information online about it. Anyway, after removing the Nokia handsfree setup and this Alpine box along with the GPS antenna and the windshield antenna and a relay box that was connected underneath the steering wheels to the ignition cables the car wont start, it only cranks. I checked all the fuses, relay boxes and everything seems OK. I installed a new battery just to be sure without change. My diagnostic is that gas is not getting to the engine. I have access to a SD1 scanner and the voltage on the ECU shows only 3.7 Volts. Some questions for the experts on the boards, 1. Could the alpine box that I removed have something to do with this mess? 2. What causes the voltage only at the ECU to be 3.6 volts? 3. Are these number one and two related somehow? 4. Any additional tips? I am attaching pics of the mysterious Alpine box along with the 2 antennas removed. Thanks in advance!!
