    - 1998 - early year
    - Blue color - average popularity
    - Well maintained - a plus
    - 32K miles - relatively high mileage
    - Private seller - better value

Not as in touch with the 550 market as before, but I'd say $105K - $110K.

I'd say the value is a little high. I know of two 97s with lower mileage in Texas that can be had for 100 or less. I prefer the blue to the red but the market normally says otherwise. I rhink the difference between 97 and 98 is immaterial. The question is service history. If a full thirty thousand has been done recently that adds substantially. To me (and again not to all) mileage is actually a good thing on a car that's more than 5 or 6 years old. I think we will see early 550s selling in the 90s and 80s within two years as the 575 replacement rolls out.

Would you consider it a very good deal at $95K with the 30K service done? The car is in Norcal at a friends house who is very wealthy so I would assume, that it has been well taken care of at the SF dealership. I have always wanted a blk/blk with sheilds, but the blue seems nice w/tan. Is red a superior color in people's minds?

Actually yellow and red are the two most difficult colors to move on a 550, so no, red is not considered a superior color by most people.

$95K for a fully-serviced car is a good deal. Back out approx. $8K for a 30K servicing (if you're buying it right after servicing, the seller can effectively extract a $ for $ premium for it), and you're essentially buying this car for $88K. If you like it, and the car checks out via a PPI, I'd get it. I've rarely seen prices like this - and when so, it's generally due to private party sales, like yours.
