Recently completed a mechanical and cosmetic restoration on this amazing 1998 F355 Berlinetta for my good friend. The car is one of the best ones in Australia. I have a personal connection to it, as it was owned by a fanatical first owner I met 16 years ago at a concours when I was just dreaming about one day owning one. He let me sit in it, and we spoke at length about all the efforts he made to keep it so nice. There were two cars that day I kept tabs on, the 95 GTS I ended up securing and this one. Once it became available I was able to secure it for my friend who wanted a mint Berlinetta. It hadn’t been used much at all for 12 years and sat relatively idle, so a full mechanical recommission was required and we addressed quite a lot along the way. Now we both have two amazing examples to use and enjoy. This image is me 16 years apart when I first sat in the car and the day it was secured ready for the overhaul. Beautiful work Elliott. Enjoyed the video. Favor: if you have them, would you mind posting a couple pics of fuel line routing in the engine bay? I also have a '98 GTB and am curious how you have it set up. I recently saw the factory TSB on the fuel line clips and found my car was missing several clips. I have the right array of clips now and want to set it up right, but the TSB doesn't show a lot of areas. Interestingly, I looked at pics of 20+ 355's on BaT and I don't think two cars had the fuel lines and clips set up the same. All over the map. This is something I want to get right.
Thanks, this is actually something I believe I have 100% correct on my own car. It was annoying me as the fuel line on mine was not routed correctly and always rubbing on the hood damper. I will have my car finished soon and will post up the photos of the correct routing and the placement and number of the clips for the community.
Thanks Mike, glad you enjoyed it. My brother did most of the filming. I took the photos and edited it together.
