    Gents. CEL illuminated so skedaddled to dealer. Diagnostic readout 'bank 1-4' but couldn't find any fault. Extinguished CEL and drove. Light stays off. Thoughts? Ecstasy or anxiety? Many thanks.

    Can you explain this in more detail as I don't know what you are saying here?

    Hi Dave. Didn't want to bore you guys...but the details are:
    Just had 15k done at Dave and Jenni Helms' Scuderia Rampanti. Got car back and took her for a spin. Runs like a scalded cat. About 50 miles in the CEL comes on - but car doesn't miss a beat. Continues to run great so drive it home. Call local dealer (SR is $3000 round trip away) who says illuminated CEL might indicate 15k service is due. Perhaps SR hadn't reset it. I had never heard of CEL indicating service due but ok, car has 15.5k on it so, maybe so. Check internet and ask Ferrari Chat (thank you) both of whom say NO, CEL does not indicate service due. Take it to local dealer who diagnosis and says, "Engine light found from bank 1-4. Did testing and found closed and open loop working properly. Possible replacement of front O2 sensor needed. Will look at a later date." I said, car's here let's do the O2 sensor now. Mechanic replies he really doesn't think O2 sensor is it. He can't find anything else wrong so turns off CEL. Brought car home. No CEL. Runs great. Many Thanks for what you do for the Ferrari community.

    The first thing the tech should have done was grab the code. Now that it's reset, you won't see it again until the drive cycle is complete - around 50 ish miles.

    It I was a betting man, in 50ish miles you will get the code again - if and when you do, read it before someone resets it.

    Dont take it there again if the fellow cant even tell you what the code was.

    Don't see code on repair order. I'll ask dealer tomorrow if they remember it. Should CEL illuminate again I'll be sure to get it. Thanks for advise.

    Home Depot, black electrical tape and if needed, scissors. Cut a one inch piece, place over CEL light. Works effectively on the suspension light as well. Btw, I have a cat delete system and my rear suspension gears are getting rebuilt....car still runs great.
