Concerns more than issues...... I KNOW I have an issue with the air pump and changed out the 15a fuse and it ran and died in about 8 seconds. Read where the possible fix is to install a 20a fuse as recommended by Ferrari. Have not done this yet but will later on in the week. Took the car out on Saturday (wife driving the 355 while I'm in a different car) and the day was pretty good. I put the cars in the shop and no issues that evening with both being heat soaked. Went to move the Ferrari the next day and when the key was turned on, I only heard the F1 pump (I think it was the pump) click. Tried it a couple of times and same ol, same ol. Then I hear some intermittent gurgling noise coming from the pump area. So I'm thinking the pump is tits up. I read all the threads I think I can find on the F1 pump but I did not see mention (or I missed it) of clicking noise and subsequent gurgling noise. Tried the car today and presto.... fixed it's self overnight. Ah, the power of positive thinking or the threats of going Lambo. However, is this a waring of imminent pump failure or perhaps the relay (although I think that one just fries the pump when it fails) or could it be a connection issue with the speed sensor or, or , or whatever else? Long shot; no connection to the air pump, right? Or what about the CEL? I think that one is only related to the air pump issue. Again, no other lights on instrument panel are illuminated other than the CEL when engine is running. True that if the CEL light is on, other more catastrophic issues will occur to the car if continued to be driven or is this just confusion? (Something about some continuous loop of information back to the computer and going into limp home mode.....) Thanks guys. DJ
1. Pull the code from the OBDII and tell us what you see. P1452 is my guess...and that happened when the fuses blew on your air pump. But that is a complete WAG.... 2. The F1 pump itself is pretty robust. The electric motor attached to it is not. Based on "gurgling" I'll ask the obvious....did you check the fluid level?
Did not check level of fluid for F1 pump. I know this is my bad, but since engine out service was done end of March this year, "assumed" it would be fine. Thanks.
