ok here is the question at hand. Upshifting (f1) is ok (1-6) but it is the down part that has me stumped! 6-5 ok, 5-4 ok, 4-3 ok, its when you go from 3-2 that it makes a not so much as a clung sound but more like, i dont know, a scratching sound. Now keep in mind that the compression on the whole is great, changed the gear oil too and seem to make it a little better, blead the whole system, did everything to do other than take the tranny out! What do you think it could be? 91% clutch life! Please help if you can. Thanks

Wear/pressure leak in the actuator or a shot synchro. You need someone to take a look at the parameters using an sd2 to diagnose properly. Actuator issues usually show up as big pressure drops. There are two internal sets of seals, so it's possible to get an issue with only certain gear selections.if the actuator has wear it can be adjusted. Otherwise it's an internal gearbox(selector/synchro) issue..

You need an sd2. You should look at system pressure while selecting the affected gears. Big pressure drops point towards leakage. You need to look at the selector figures to asses wear in the bottom part of the actuator. It's worth paying someone to diagnose it, then you can repair it yourself. Be aware there are some special tools you need to strip the transmission or re-align the actuator shift mechanism.
