I got a buddy of mine who needs to get rid of his '99 Arnage because he has something he wants to invest in. Anyways I know that the '99 doesn't have the 6.75 litre engine and actually I like it more because it would be cheaper to maintain. He never drove this car, he's a sports agent and it was a gift from one of his clients, a buddy of ours from college. It is black/tan with only 500 miles! Yes you heard right 500 miles. It also has 22" rims. He is only asking me for 60K. That makes me happy but makes me worry too. I don't know if the car has been sorted out and I worry it has electrical problems. I think it's a good buy, but you can get a low miles '00 with the big engine for high 70's. Just wanted some of you guys opinions. I already have an S550 so this would be a weekend car. Again 500 miles it just blew my mind, that's like 75 miles a year.

75 miles per year is not a good thing.

If you have an S550 already, you should get a sports car as a weekend car. Tell your friend to put it on eBay... money and friends never mix well anyway.

I think this is good advice. I'll bet the car will have an issue or two that hasn't been addressed due to milage.

with 75 miles per year, there is a-lot of sitting in the garage! ( the mechanic's garage that is) if he is asking $60,000 for a car with that type of miles, he should raise the price to $65,000. Those cars are very delicate, but when a 1999 bentley has 75 miles per year, there is a high chance of catistrophic electrical failuer. Past experiences prove so, My dad had a 1993 turbo r bentley in 1998 and he drove it only 200 miles per year, one weekend day he was driving to work on the highway and the car died, all of the electrics failed due to an insufficant amount of voltage in the alternater, So at least get the alternater checked out. and get an inspection done by the local bentley dealer.

But I've looked on EBAY and I think it is a great buy. I'd obviously want to change the rims back to stock. So In all do you think it is worth 60K

buy it based on a inspection by a bentley dealer, it's really not that hard.
If you want it buy it.

Having an Arnage I would say yes its worth 60k but I don't get the mileage. If the guy was given this car as a gift in 99 and didn't want to drive it why didn't he get rid of it years ago? Who in their right mind gets a free Arnage and only puts 500 miles on in 7 years. Something doesn't ad up.

we went to UT together and he became a sports agent and represented a longhorn who got a big deal in the NFL. The guy gave him an Arnage as a present, he wasn't the kind of guy who would drive an arnage anyways. He loves his F250 with big tires way more. I guess that's the kind of person you are when you're from Odessa, Texas. The only reason it even ahs 500 miles is because he drives it out of his garage to his front yard for a wash every weekend.

If you want a car to drive, don't make it this one. I'm sure finding a 7 year old Arnage with 500 miles is not easy. If anything I would buy it and store it just to have a 500 mile Arnage in 20 years. However I'm not that type of person that buys cars and doesn't drive them, if you are interested in this Arnage buy it for $60k, sell it for profit assuming the car is well sorted, and use the remaining money to buy an Arnage that's already been driven and you can drive comfortablly.

So how does it have aftermarket wheels and why would he have kept the car for so many years? If its all legit I would take the car to a Bentley dealer to be checked out and if all is well, its worth 60k easy.

That year used the turbo BMW M62 (4.4L) IIRC

Most drivetrain parts aside from the turbo bits, provided you source them through BMW, should not be that out of this world.

Also, if there is a little yellow dot/light on the dash near/around the OD, it has been tampered with. Just an FYI

haha I love how this topic went from me asking if it was a good buy to 3 or 4 guys making offers to purchase it. I'm actually going to see the car this weekend when I go to Houston for the Texas vs LSU basketball game. I've scheduled an appointment with Bentley of Houston to have a technician look over the car. Thanks for your offers though, I wish I had a Bentley to sell you
