    Interesting 355 Challenge car sold this weekend in Berlin auction:

    https://auctionata.com/o/129495/1999-ferrari-f355-challenge.

    The VIN listed (000000AR-777-GT) is not a more standard 355 nomenclature. Looking at trunk, interior and engine photos, it seems that the car has been further modified from Challenge spec. Sold for equivalent $158K (including buyer's premium, but excludes VAT).

    Does anybody have more background on this car? Robb, is this car in your dbase?

    This car was listed for sale by (Ferrari 308 Vetro) - Heinz from Austria back in January 2015 for 118k euros.

    It was listed as a '99 model raced by Roberto Ragazzi in the Southern Europe Challenge Series. Ragazzi raced serial # 101584 in the '99 world championships which of course was a '95 model year car. Ragazzi ran and owned more than one challenge car.

    I'm not aware of many '99 model challenge cars out there - most of the last cars were '98's. Heinz may be able to fill in the group if anyone has his email. I would suspect that at one time, this car had a traditional Vin like all of the F355 challenge cars. But along the way it may have been replaced with this current serial #.
