I agree. There's something awkward with the GT3RS' tractor like stance and wheel size. I prefer the sleek and lower profile of the GT3.

Agreed on the RS stance. That look is a bit of a head scratcher.

GT4 is a great car, enthusiasts asked and Porsche delivered on that one.

    Absolutely not!

    I'm celebrating a good move.

Sometimes we buy cars and two or three years later we have second thoughts or reservations.

This is not one of those times :)

The 991 GT3 and the 991 GT3 have a sublime-to-ridiculous thing going in terms of comparison, at least for the road.

The GT3 is perfection, just right, the RS is over-the-top.

At least that's my view now that both cars have been around with us for a while.

The only problem is that you will not see the car for at least a year...
current thinking is Geneva (March) intro, with USA shipments in fall of next year (i.e., Sept)
ALL of the first cars are spoken for, and given recent history, Porsche will slowly add allocations to keep prices & interest high. My guess is that if you walked into a P dealer today and placed a deposit you wouldn't get a car until early 2018....

Help! I need some solid advice from GT3 enthusiasts here....

I have an allocation for a 991.2 GT3 and in process of speccing the car.
    As it stands (basically):

    Guards Red
Black wheels with red line on rim
    Manual transmission
    PCCB
All black leather interior with red stitching and CF trim
    LED lights with black surround.

A couple things I am wondering about:
    1. Is the front lifter essential? Where I live not much of an issue but will plan on road trips with friends..often thousands of miles..is the front clearance quite low?

    2. I am toying with making side sills Guards Red instead of the standard black but don't see any cars optioned like that. I was thinking it would give the appearance of the car sitting more substantially squat closer to ground rather than floating above road....thoughts?

    Thanks!!
Can't wait, very very cool car..planning on keeping for life in stable with Ferraris...and driving the piss out if it. :)

    Congrats on your allocation!

    1. I ordered my 991.1 GT3 with the front lift but later regretted it. I'm used to driving low cars and live in flat Florida...should have known better. The lift also restricts how much you can lower the car on factory coilovers, if that matters to you. If where you live it isn't much of an issue then just be cautious on unknown roads and you should be fine.

    2. I understand the visual aspect of the side sills being the same color as the body.....however IMO when the front spoiler and rear diffuser are still black it looks odd....maybe thats just me.

    Thanks!
I too am in a Florida and have a C7 'vette Z06 with Z07 package, extremely low front splitter, and not too much of an issue. But my friends I drive around the southeast...think I may skip the front lifter.
I hear what you are saying about side sills...my concern as well...might just play it safe and keep the standard black.
    Thanks again.
