this looks nice but im not a fan. seems to be a parts bin special from exclusive division. its a turbo with down graded motor by 50 or so hp to work with stick shift and rwd. will be crazy expensive but why get this over a touring gt3 or even a gts?
Also the best marketing video ever, to watch during the 52 weeks every year when you won’t be driving the actual car: Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
cool video but old version was a special car with special motor. only thing special with this version is that its limited production. a gt3 touring with some exclusive paint and interior options has the special motor along with the style. can put a duck tail on it too.
What is it with Porsche and their insistence on putting roundels and race numbers on their limited edition street cars?
It is a bit much. And I'd be afraid to remove or damage the decal because presumably it would devalue the car. None of these cars will ever see a track, so yeah, it's a gimmick.
So how is the value of the 911R holding up? I haven’t seen any for sale recently. But since I am just a regular owner and not a “collector” the one offs don’t have much appeal to me as driving them would hurt the value and just looking at them in the garage is limited fun for me.
Porsche All 911 Models - Porsche USA $275000! extra $100k for a car that is less content than a tt but offers limited production and a stick shift. imagine if ferrari ever offered another stick shift car. would be worth extra million over the auto version!
That is ridiculous! That is way more that I paid for a heavily optioned 2022 992 TS. Pretty aggressive pricing likely to turn off a few loyal Porsche buyers.
Hagerty says $400K for “good” condition, but I’m guessing most or all are concours level. 2016 Porsche 911 R https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/index.php?threads/2016-Porsche-911-R.659173/ $529K asking here. I’m not a collector, either. My 964 is regular production with a miles on it. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
That sounds like the 911R prices are holding very well but not increasing so much from the after market prices a year or two after they came out in 2016. I recall hearing of sales then going for about $500k.
Hagerty showed 911 R prices: Concours level #1 @ $600k (+13.9%), Excellent level #2 @ $510 (+14.9%), the increase coming 1/2022 as 2021 prices were shown as pretty flat for the year. But if the economy trends downward or into a recession I would assume most all collectibles save Unicorns would also trend downward as well.
IMHO prices now are artificially high due to a lot of easy real estate profit-taking. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
The 911R was hailed as the last NA-RWD-Manual 911 to come from Porsche- Hence the mania and aftermarket craziness- Then the GT3 Touring came out- That said, the roof, interior and very low build numbers make it unique and a pretty solid investment- But the folks who paid $600K for a $300K car that is not much different (and some say not as good) as a $150K GT3 Touring may not come out great financially- But they will have a 911R The logo indoor factory cover I bought from Suncoast for my GT3 Touring says "911R" on the tag so I can live vicariously
You are doing it right. Sure, the thought of a pristine car is a wonderful thing. But how awful would it be to own a 911R for 5 years and never drive it?
997 is closer to the original 911 in size. That would be my favorite water-cooled generation. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
