saw this on another forum .. a guy has put 20K miles on his 997S in a little over a year and here is all he had had to do next service 40K about the same price ...

$375.00. Ten qts.mobil one, oil filter, cabin filter,
look for leaky R M S, deflate tires and replenish with fresh
imported German air, etc. They washed and dried it too. A

really is a near maintenance free high performance car .............

Seriously, aren't *all* cars supposed to take 20K miles without a sweat?

Come on Mr Payne. You know that’s just a myth that the Japanese and Germans keep on telling. No one actually does that. I mean after all if the Italians can’t pull that off, no one can. Right? Right?

    That is kind of bizarre...

Good to hear Porsche's normal maintaince schedule is relatively light.

I went to the Porsche dealership and asked the sales person what the maintenance for the CGT is, and he said it was every 15k miles and only $1,800. Not bad for a 400k+ car. He also said that Porsches can be regularly serviced evry 20k milesw. Seems to long for a service...

Just paid $700 for the 30k service on my TT (includes spark plug change). I will be putting 20k miles per year on it (7k in the 4 months I've owned it so far). The only other repair so far is a $250 relay module.

So far, this is the ultimate daily driver.

the 997 has oil change and minor service every 20k miles or 2 years and a major every 60k, with no timing belt, just a life time chain, and no valve adjustements....very little maintanence for a high perf, car.....

Ferrari maintenace would be MUCH CHEAPER if they were driven 20k miles a year too...maybe not as low as a Porsche, but much less than the 3k miles a year Ferraris cost!

on a per mile basis, yes, but thats an engine out service for 7-10k dollars every year and a half for most v8 and 12 models ..not exactly cheap, plus from what i have seen from ferraris, there will other problems creeping up as the miles go up...each little repair or part has ridiculous costs, so there is no comparison to a porsche....my cousin is up to 520k miles on his 84 carrera cab, with the orginal engine and no rebuild, and he makes f1 drivers look like they are taking it easy!!!!! i drove my 1991 911 103k miles in 7 years, with only yearly routine service needed.....
