In Sport mode , the dealer said the car had same settings as the GT3..is this correct or bs ?
Yeah i thought so too but didnt want to tell him.. Napleton dealer told me that Does this mean that a 997 GT3 will have a much harder/harsher ride than a 997 C4S in sport mode ?
Don't know if that's accurate or not, but having just driven an '06 C4S, I can say that the sport mode is very stiff. The handling response is very quick and precise, and reminds me of the M030 option on the 996, but the ride feels even firmer (maybe due to 19" wheels?). Haven't driven a 997 GT3 to compare, but from what I've read it sounds like that may not be far off. Either way, the C4S rocks and I wouldn't turn one down, but if the GT3 is as good as it sounds, I'm all over that.
Yes i agree its very stiff/firm. I wonder if the GT3 is even stiffer, if its possible to use one as a DD ??
Hi Andrew.....!! I have driven the previous generation 996 GT2 and GT3 extensively, and 997's (but not the 997 GT3 yet obviously)........compared to standard 996 M030 cars they can be perceived as a bit harsher, especially the GT3.......but not to the extent that you could not easily use one as a daily driver. I certainly would. The 997 suspension in sport mode really annoyed me to no end, it was too bouncy and unsettled, I hated it......it felt like it was missing something.......I prefer it in the regular mode. Then again, we are all different in our tastes, and I like my cars on the edge......whereas others do not......so for me any of their GT cars is perfect. Here are the specs from the PCNA website..........the first car is the GT3....the second is the C4S.......the GT3 has different suspension components, whereas the C4S relies on electric adjustment of the shocks/dampers....not the same IMHO..... Merci ! Im getting used to the stiffer suspension. I also like cars that have rather stiff suspensions. I hate boat like rides . Got my first backpack fright tonight
Having driven the 575, the 360 and the 360CS, I find the 997 C4S suspension is nice but very bouncy/unsettled when driven hard in much the same way as the 360 is "twitchy". I dont trust it too much, and it rocks back and forth especially on twisty and bumpy roads. Its good but not great.
Someone on 6speedonline just got a 997 GT3 and I quote, "GT3 normal mode is about the equivelent of sport mode for the 997s, and sport mode, is, well, "super sport", although I didn't notice the diff on the highway...but once on the track, I'm sure i'll feel it"
