Standard bucket seats on EU model GT3 RS's are too small for me (6`, 220lbs), at least for off track use.
I asked to get a larger size to Porsche but they said that its 1 size.
I mailed to Recaro about the issue and waiting for an answer.

Besides Recaro, what brand/model do you recommend which have larger sizes and look good in GT3 RS? i.e; Sparco is too racy/ricey.

    thanks..

I know that you could get the regular (non bucket) sport seats for the 997.1 GT3RS so maybe you can buy those from Porsche if they will fit. Those bucket seats are very narrow and high so I know it can be a real pain to get in and out of them.

alternatively, maybe order the "normal" sport seats from a Carerra? they're wide but still have a lot of lateral support, both hip and shoulder.

Maybe have the sport seats reworked by an upholstery guy to fit better?

    Correct answer.

I have done this very thing to the factory Recaro RS seat for a client who was 6' 1" and 240 pounds. All it took was the removal of a small amount of lateral padding in the side bolsters (in his case, your body mass distribution and pressure points will dictate what you need to do). It was relatively cheap as well....a couple of hundred bucks for labor time only.

If you plan to go to the track on a regular basis though, you'll not want to do this as you may find you'll now move around too much from the G-forces under hard cornering and heavy braking. The seats "are" made tight for a reason.

Recaro should be able to help out. They have an xl size in several of their seats. Don't cheap out with Corbeau (junk) or another mickey mouse brand.

I think i'll go with TechArt.
I have seen a GT3 3.8 today, its seats were different than RS's recaros and much more comfortable for regular use, they look exactly like Techart's, maybe they are, any ideas?
