Were both cars on display by Ferrari by any chance ? , is it possible that they used an assigned car which was promised to a good customer who may of being upset knowing his car had been on display so they duplicated the 99999 vin ?

Also regarding the importing of this car or any other f50 ( I know very little about why, and hope somebody can give more detail ) but my dads old f50 which was car 32 and sold through Sheehan see link. I thought only the first 40 cars were possible to be converted to US spec ( or is this the first 40 cars were easier to convert).

This is the only reported simultaneous sighting with two cars wearing the same number. The other sightings were all of the same car (Swaters) in different places. IF this double sighting is confirmed - photos of the cars and chassis numbers would be welcome - it could well have been the Swaters car and the Galleria car, the latter with a chassis plate 99999 affixed for the occasion (and later removed as we know). On another note, I cannot see how two or more 'official' cars with the same VIN could have been sold to anyone, when MODIS shows only one car, with all the car's numbers, dates and name of customer (Francorchamps). If there ever has been any car to which this number was affixed, I think it must have been before recorded delivery to Francorchamps of the genuine 99999 and just for show purposes. This would explain why no-one has ever been able to prove the existence of any further example.

    Fair comments.

Meanwhile, someone scores a pretty decent deal on likely the most significant road-going F50 extant, if the car can be had within the auction's estimated range.

Mileage-proof, too, as it'll always be the only (customer car, at least) 99999, delivered new to Jacques Swaters post factory promotional tour. And the new owner gets to start w/less than 1K on the clock.

What's the current price range of a "regular" F50?

Thanks Natan. Perhaps it has had a yellow belt line, but I have never seen it, and I first saw the car around 2000.

The magazine Hors Ligne featured a red 288 GTO from Ferrari. It to had the belt line done in yellow.

So maybe I'm getting old and I'm getting the cars mixed up ;) But then, I also know (mind you, I'm not saying I remember this) that the first customer delivered F40 LM went to Burleys and this car had a yellow belt line as well.

    Ok... Maybe that's the car.
Like I said, I think I saw it in Ferrari World but I still didn't find the box where they're in. I go and look again tomorrow.

Below you see two pics (Copyright Cavallino) of 88520 as featured in Cavallino #78. This car was delivered to Jean 'Beurlys' Blaton and you can clearly see the yellow line.

It is well known that Jean 'Beurlys' Blaton had his 288 GTO, F40, F40 LM and F50 with the yellow stripe.

    Swaters did not.

    Thanks Joe.
I must have mixed up the two men/cars then. So the F50 on the picture above is Beurlys' car then?

I should mention that I have a fabulous USA spec F50 still with its first owner (!) and with just 2,790 miles on the clock.

It has the (positively wicked & outrageously expensive) Tubi headers & exhaust system which means this car runs on straight pipes...

Priced very realistically - Please e-mail me to discuss same.

    Not really.

That perception is only perpetuated by misinformed statements like this...

Just because it continues to be said, doesn't make it so.

As an employee of the current owner of ZFFTA46B000099999 I have been trying for some time to get the car titled and registered here in Hawaii. The only thing I need is a NOTARIZED bill of sale. Your name appears several times in the car's file, but there is no contact information. If you could help, please reply at [email protected]. This could be the break I've been hoping for.

About the F50 with chass.nr. s/n 103097 (the one with the yellow stripe).
I have also seen this car at the Spa Racingdays (1999) and took some pictures.
I always thought that this was the first F50 ever deliverd. Could someone confirm that.

Then there was mentioned that there is also an F40 and 288 GTO with a yellow stripe.
Are there any pictures of these cars.

    Kind regards
    Xander
