A great candidate for properly converting to full Michelotto LM specs like Tim did with his, as I don't think this cars race history adds any real additional financial provenance.

I would say its not worth the same going rate for a half decent road spec F40, lets see what the market decides though.

My prediction £500k top bid maybe. I do know a few people are looking for a decent base car to do the above.

I'd agree. Says Michelotto LM spec. Clearly isn't. Any idea whether it sold or high bid?

Not showing up on the sales results, be interesting to hear what the bidding was like.

I've been trying to find out, I was there but couldn't be bothered waiting for the F40 bid. It was very slow and I was in desperate need of coffee. From what I saw other cars where slow and nothing crazy was happening.

Did some searching and found this on pistonheads:

That was based on IF as the information is 2nd hand.

It was a no sale as I mentioned in the other thread, but does anyone know what the HB was?

I am amazed that they advertise this as "Michelotto LM Spec". The car (#80782) has good racing history, but not an LM conversion (even unofficial). The bodywork changes are bespoke, see front hood for example. The engine set-up is also bespoke (non-LM style intercoolers, twin wastegates etc). See pics in

These days it seems to have become normal for race-modded F40s to be called "LMs" regardless of any connection to Michelotto in period. I have the same question about F40 #84326 in the long F40 LM restoration thread (where the first LM mods seemed to have taken place years after the car finished racing), but that's a separate topic.

Anything to get a sale I guess...or not in this case.

The Coys car still looks like it did during it's racing career, which may be valuable.

Your £500k (say £550 all in) estimate is looking more and more sensible.
