    Hello ,

My name is Michael Perry. Please excuse my delay but I received many
requests for my awesome 1995 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta and it's more than I
expected. First of all, I want to thank you for your interest in my 1995 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta.

Well, I have to let you know the car is in a perfect condition. The car is
in running and drivable condition needing no repairs and meet all USA
standard for immediate re-title in your home state. The car will come
with a clear title, bill of sale.

The price for the Ferrari with shipping included, is $25,000.00 US. Shipping
will be done via Lufthansa and it will take no more then 4-5 days until you'll have it at your door step. It will be shipped from Athens/Greece. I will support the shipping taxes, insurance and handling via Lufthansa Airplane Cargo insured.

Also, I have to let you know that I want a deposit of $5,000.00 prior shipping since I will ship it in the same day or next day after the first payment is complete.

For the moment I can only accept a wire transfer as a payment method and the fastest is Western Union.

You have nothing to worry about because this deal will be done in a secure
way if you prefer. The most important thing in all my activity here is that I am affiliated at Ebay Square Trade , I have a a purchase protection account for $5,000.00 and I assume you know what this means.

How you are protected by Square Trade , in case we have a deal:

    1) If you will not receive the car as i described to you, although this is not the case, Square Trade will refund you with 100% from the whole amount
which you paid me. Even in case you will not receive the car, they will refund you the money.

    2) You can send the money to my name and address but you will not give me
the details from the payment. You will give the details to Square Trade. They
will verify the payment and if it is OK, if the money are available under my name they will notify me to proceeder with the shipping. After you receive
and check that the car is the one you want and paid for, you just notify
Square Trade to forward me the payment details in order for me to pick up my money.

All the manuals and the original documents are in English. It is made for US
market and has US specs on it (speedometer in miles, etc...). The buyer will
receive this along with all papers and receipts that he needs to register it in his name. He will receive the TITLE, keys, owner manual, all paperwork ... It has a Clear Title and it is in Showroom Condition.

Please REPLY WITH YOUR EBAY USER ID, FULL NAME AND SHIPPING ADDRESS IN YOUR NEXT EMAIL SO I CAN CONTACT SQUARE TRADE! I will wait for your email to let me know if you are interested in knowing more details about the purchase.

Let me know if this is OK with you, so that we can move forward with this
    deal!

So, let me know your decision.
    Thanks for your time,
    Sincerely, Michael Perry

Interesting. Since he didn't get any takers, I guess I'm not the only one that had red bells and whistles going off about this deal ! I can only imagine having $25k disappear into the Greek economy with no car in return.....

    Thanks -

I got the same email. This is clearly a scam. What I found interesting is that the guy had an impressive ebay feedback score, somthing like 167 with no negatives, however, if you look to see how he got such good feedback it's because he was buying used paperbacks for $.01, etc. I guess his plan was to build up ebay credibility through these micro-purchases and then try to pull a big scam. He may have had more luck if he had priced the 355 at a credible amount. As it is, no one in their right mind (I hope) would imagine you could get a 355 INCLUDING air freight from Greece for 25K. Be interesting to see what his next attempt is...

    Hello,

I appreciate you notifying SafeHarbor with your concern.

Please be advised that this offer is not endorsed by eBay.

Square Trade is an online dispute resolution service for buyers and
sellers. They do not broker auctions or guarantee funds.

Some recent items listed on eBay Motors have been the result of an
unauthorized account takeover of a member's account. There are a number
of ways this hijacking could have occurred. If the user had a relatively
simple password or password hint question it is possible that a third
party was able to gain access to the account by guessing the password.
Some eBay members have reported receiving messages asking for User IDs
and passwords. These messages appear to come from eBay Support, but in
fact are not. It is important to remember that eBay will never ask for
sensitive information of this nature through email.

As you may be aware, email solicitations for outside of eBay
transactions are prohibited on eBay and are a violation of our user
agreement. However, our initial review leads us to believe that the
recent email sent from this account may actually be the result of an
unauthorized account takeover. We are now in the process of verifying
the actual sender and will restore the account to its true owner if
    necessary.

Also, eBay discourages all transactions, which are initiated by parties
other than the seller and the winning buyer in a completed eBay listing.
Sales that take place outside of eBay carry a potential fraud risk and
are not eligible for eBay services, including feedback, contact
information requests, and the eBay Fraud Protection Program. You can
review the services provided through the eBay Fraud Protection Program
    at:

    http://pages.ebay.com/help/confidence/problems-fraud.html

In addition, we do not recommend the use of instant cash wire transfer
services such as Western Union and MoneyGram, and we ask that users
decline sending payment in cases where these are the only methods of
payment offered by the seller. Generally, if payment is sent using an
instant cash wire transfer service and the item is not delivered as
promised, no recourse is available for recovering funds. In most cases,
an escrow service should be used when purchasing high dollar value
items. More information on the benefits and risks of individual payment
    methods can be found at:

    http://pages.ebay.com/help/buy/payment.html

eBay urges caution when purchasing high-priced items, especially if the
price seems too good to be true.

It is my pleasure to assist you. Thank you for choosing eBay.

    Regards,

    Lexie

Was offered same car for 15K. I e-mailed this guy asking what was wrong with the car and he answered that he needed urgent medical treatment. I suggested he visited the nearest Ferrari dealer in Greece. Never heard from him again, but he identified himself by another name.
