At least for a couple of weeks. I posted this in the general section but I am visiting the parent company just north of Frankfurt and the big boss has given me the keys to his 360 Modena as my daily driver. The weather has stunk for most of it but I have gotten a couple of nice driving days out of it. What a spectacular car. Nice manners if you baby it but oh mein gott what a rush if you get on it.

My 2001 360F1 Spider (Rosso Corsa) is almost a daily driver, because on alternate days I drive my 1990 Testarossa (Rosso Corsa).

I drive in traffic at least an hour a day so I drive a 4cyl car.
7L per 100ks. The savings go in the 360 tank.
Best I move to the country, work from home and drive the 360 every day.
Damn I knew that was the answer!

Is it normal to only get 10K miles on a clutch? As someone seriously shopping for a 360 and plans to drive it often this is a concern.

Drive my 2002 360 almost daily. Perfect Ferrari for DD. One of the best models for DD. Love every minute of it!

No you wont...it will last a lot longer. F1 a little less than a 3-pedal but you should get at least 25,000 miles out of the clutch and some have gone over 50,000 miles on the original clutch. My own car had the clutch replaced for the first time at 42,000 miles.

Thanks Mike. I'm looking for an F1 and figured on it lasting a bit less than than a stick. It'll be close to a daily driver...lots of road trips ( I have a 10 month old 2012 Camaro SS convert with 27,000 miles on it already). I can live with 25,000 and 42,000 would be outstanding.

Old 360 tcu cars with f1 and a good amount of start stop will not do much better than 15k to 20k miles. Do you have a manual? My f1 with old tcu was replaced at 17k with prior owner. I have a cs tcu now and it greatly improves things.

is it true that putting it in "auto" is worse for the clutch? I ask only because it may be something for folks to consider

I have a 3-pedal, so wont have to deal with this until my next car... especially if ferrari is doing away with the 3-pedal :(

Mine is a F1 and the majority of those 42,000 miles on the first clutch were done with the original 99 TCU, I would have to check the receipts but I think the 04 TCU was put in around 30,000 miles (from memory).

My current clutch has 14,000 miles on it and is at 70% left.

A few things...I am in Santa Barbara and there is no rush hour :) I also work early in the AM and get off work mid-afternoon, so even less traffic. 20 miles/day on the freeway and about 2 miles city traffic with little actual traffic. Weekends are mostly freeway fun miles. Most traffic the car sees is grocery store runs in the evenings or maybe dinner/movie dates with the wife (occasionally get stuck in real rush hour in L.A.). The car is my daily, I got over hot rodding it the first few weeks and now drive it like a normal car. All these things help clutch life.

Makes more sense to me know. I suspect those not dd ing the car will be out for a more spirited drive almost always, which will also have a big effect on clutch life.

Djkling, yes auto mode will decrease life as it constantly shifts things around, especially up shifts too much. Auto also defeats the purpose of this car a bit imo. F1 is super easy and manageable in rush hour and with a cup of cofee in hand once you get used to it.

I personally think that driving an Fcar every day would diminish the awesome experience and would become " normal " ....

Lol, that kinda happened to me. My dad said "Wow. Son, Wish had your problem". Sometimes I get busy with work and don't get to drive the car for like 2 weeks and then it truly does feel special again and awesome like the first time!!!

That's like people saying you wouldn't be happy having all the money if you won the lottery. I say I'd like to give it a try, I think I'll like it just fine. Of course I don't have a daily commute. Worked from home for many years and now retired so every day is a weekend drive!

Yup, the car is my normal car now I certainly treat it less like a Ferrari now especially when grocery shopping but I think that life is too short to not drive the car every day...tomorrow you might be 6ft. under and some one else will have the awesome experience that you missed out on.

Don't get me wrong, I am not rich, I sacrificed to get this car, my wife sacrificed too and I thank her daily for it. Its not every wife who is willing to hear "sorry you can't go on vacation this year, the 360 will need a clutch in 2 years" Luckily she likes my "normal" car also.

the 360 is relatively comfortable and sure is a joy to drive, but i really wouldn't consider any ferrari a daily driver just because of the maintenance costs. that being said, if you get to drive your 360 every day you are one lucky sob. i haven't driven mine in over a month now between traveling and the hurricane.

That is not the norm... I had a 2004 f1 with 35k Km's and had 78% left when I sold it. It all depends on your driving habits and technique.
