Just a thank you to everyone that helped me find my dream car!! After years of searching I found the car of my dreams...the car that featured in a poster on my childhood bedroom wall!!... I finally bought a 1985 Ferrari QV with 16,000 miles. It is a US car with the extra safety of bracing in the door panels, but with the Euro front and rear bumpers. It is also Red with tan interior...the car is in fantastic shape! I am currently putting a new exhaust on the car that eliminates the metal louvered box found on US cars...I am also installing Euro mirrors. I would like to thank my good friend Adams (member of Ferrari Chat)...without his great advise, I would have been driving an MGB!..LOL. Looking forward to sharing my love of cars and driving around Lake Martin together...good times ahead.. Thankyou also to Rich from Panama City who was kind enough to show me his collection of cars and advise me on buying a ferrari...Its great to know I have a ferrari friend just down the street... A big thankyou to Rodney, who sold me the car and made the buying process a delight! Another thankyou to Frank Maderi who did my PPI and is helping get the car in "show" condition...I will recommend him to anybody needing work done on their cars... I would like to thank "JAM1" for recommending Frank to me... Also, I would like to thank Mike Roberts at F40 MotorSports for spending the time sending me potential cars to possibly buy...maybe I can buy my next collector car from them... Looking forward to being active on Ferrari Chat and getting to know new friends.... Cheers, Chris.
Great to see you are now firmly in the land of lunatic owners. You learned a TON going through this process, and ended up with a great car. Congratulations to you. Always fun to have another fan on board! And yes, I look forward to lake road drives whenever possible.
congratulations to you!! If you have 1/2 the enjoyment i have had, you are in for some great times. Pics!!! Geno
Chris, I'm glad it worked out for you. Frank is a great mechanic and I'm sure he will take care of the car for you. I was actually there while your car was in for inspection (visiting one of my Ferraris Frank is doing a mechanical resto on)... you're going to be happy with your new QV!
Don't throw away the exhaust shield or the original US mirrors!!! Keep them somewhere -- someday you or the next owner may want it back to original.
