While driving down Olive Mill Road in Montecito this evening, I caught a glimse of what appeared to be a Blue and Yellow GTO being driven on the road. Reproduction, Replica, or Real? Any record of such a car in this area of California?

If real, it could be 3445GT which belongs, I believe, to Chris Cox. Blue and yellow were former owner Ulf Norinder's Swedish racing colors.

I saw the very same car. I turned around and caught-up with it at the 76 station.

.....we may have reached the tipping point.....paraphrasing "Vizla" in one of the other threads: "....so we should simply assume they're ALL fake/replica/reproduction until otherwise identified...."

Just as well my GTC is gone; I'd be pissed always having to say...."yes dammit, of course its a real one"....

Oops, my bad -- this clearly is NOT the Fantasy Junction car! The car in the Santa Barbara photos is RHD, three-louvers, no rollbar, a much-more 3445 GT-esque Swedish blue, with yellow only on its nose.

I believe you are correct - there are so many fakes, that in this thread, one fake has been confused for another fake!

I note Fantasy Junction styled it as a "Reconfiguration" ......

The car looks a lot like photos of 3445 GT; but with the stripe and numbers removed.

Geez, regardless of what it is, that does look very nice. Even the windshield and door window seem to line up better than most clones. I would have pulled up to the pump on the side of the gas filler though, don't you think? :)

Did you happen to ask the owner the Serial No. or from where he acquired it?

Giving that nearly dead horse another thwack; it is helpful to be able to compare "the real one" directly with "the NOT real one" in the same thread.....

About 7 years ago a GTO of that same color was unloaded in front of my house by a car transit company. It was on it's way from Arizona to the midwest or midwest to Arizona for a restoration. I wish I took a picture.

The irony or caveat (depending on where you're standing) is that for the question at hand, the real one *isn't* a real one. After the accident(s) Ulf Norinder had 3445's body replaced with a Drogo creation. The body on 3445 today was made 15 years after the Series I's left the factory.
Your point is well taken, nonetheless.

And some posters are saying there is no need for an identification/discussion thread....
