Flyboy........Here is a pic of $11K+ in billed heel hardware that my doctor removed. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I can't post the pic of my hardware yet, because it is still in there, but the surgery isn't canceled, just postponed. For the time being though, here is a pic of my xray after surgery. Also, for giggles, I have included a screenshot from my home server. I call it "not enough RAM"... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The removal surgery will be a piece of cake! So the doctor does not toss the hardware, ask him to save it (He'll have to send it to a sterilization lab before handing it off to you). Pretty insane pricing on these 'nuts and bolts', yes? (!).
I vaguely remember seeing a bill for surgery and the parts were like $32k. I definitely want to keep that hardware so I can make up a little display with the before surgery xray, the post-surgery xray (I have the originals of both) and the hardware. I think it will be a GREAT conversation piece in my office. By the way, I broke the ankle while at work. Slipped and fell on ice, catching my leg and arm under me when I landed. The road and sidewalk crews had cleared the snow, but didn't put anything down on the ice! Figures, huh? Oh, forgot to mention something....earlier today my Dad was going to go take a shower, slipped and fell on the wet floor. He broke his right leg, both tib and fib also. He was admitted to MountainView Medical Center in Las Cruces. He has surgery scheduled for tomorrow AM. Please pray for him. One of these days I am going to put up a thread about all the things that have happened with my family and I since I got hurt and watch all the responses saying "that's unbelievable!" If I didn't live through it, I wouldn't believe it!
Just curious what you used to drink before you switched to the diet junk? I used to be friends with a guy who'd down 12 or so cans a day of regular coke. Makes me wonder now what his blood sugar was then - though back then I wondered how he wasn't the least bit overweight.
If you have a Wal-Mart, look at their W-M brand sugar-free copies of Crystal Light - on the same shelf, and 1/2 to 1/3 the price of Crystal Light. Lemonade, Grape and Orange powders are great, I have not tried the others.
I used to drink a lot of ice tea and an occasional soda. I am drinking the Wallyworld version of Crystal Light right now. (Literally!) I mixed together the Cherry and the Orange and it is amazing that the aftertaste is almost gone. I am off to Las Cruces to see my Dad. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
Dad's surgery was successful. He couldn't be put under for the surgery, so they gave him an epidermal and a lot of "happy juice". He didn't know he was ever there. They put in a rod that goes from his knee to his ankle. He is in a lot of pain right now, but they are working on that for him. Thank you for keeping him in your prayers.
