While driving with A/C on, all of a sudden it died. A/C and clock lights went dark...
348? They have known problems with the electrical connectors coming loose. Pull it out clean and electro grease the connectors and make sure it is all plugged in tight again. Then cross your fingures that that is all it was... Tear it apart after you check fuses of course.
Thanks. I've heard the fuse(s) are in the trunk area. My concern is that the clock and a/c lights are out. Does anyone know if they are "fed" by one or more fuses. How about ecu's??
I am assuming you are talking about the 348 as it's a very common problem. The climate control unit/clock runs off the same power and fuse circuit. Check the 'hidden fuse' in the trunk area, that is where I would look first. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/142470743-post3.html
Yep, "hidden fuse" because it is not disclosed in the manual, at least not mine. Use the search function in this forum and you will find more than you care to know.
I may be late to the party here, but when I first bought my 348, the HVAC control unit was behaving strangely. The digital read out would show just straight lines or nothing at all. I pulled it out of the car, removed the back cover, cleaned every connector I could find, coated them all with dielectric grease and reassembled it. When I reinstalled it all, everything worked perfectly and it's been trouble-free ever since. OK, there is still one annoying issue..... Whoever designed those stupid square buttons didn't leave enough clearance between the edge of the buttons and the hole that they poke through. The buttons frequently jam in the "in" position and require a light/quick tap or two with the tip of my finger to pop back out again. If I weren't overly observant, I think many times these buttons would stay stuck in the "in" position for extended periods of time. I really wonder if this is one of the reasons that the HVAC control units fail so commonly. ?????
