If the pressure switch not working, this will stop the compressor clutch from engaging. Try shorting out the pressure switch with the AC controls set to cooling- have someone listen for a click in the area of the compressor ( i think you do not need engine running). If you get the click then the clutch is engaging the compressor, if no click then look at compressor clutch as prone to failure on some ferrari models

I had to replace my compressor last month and it was very expensive , hopefully yours isn’t going out. You should take it to an Indy and know exactly what’s wrong

After having no luck myself, I’m dropping it at the dealer tomorrow.

Took it to the dealer. The clutch on the A/C compressor is ripped apart and there is some other related damaged. Got the quote of roughly $6,000 for the repair….

And it’s covered under my power warranty! What good news today.

    Thought $800 was really cheap.

Yeh I looked at 800 and said no way. But I could have been mistaken.

I think for a DIY job this can be done for $800 if you buy the compressor (through Scuderia parts and not a dealer) and put it all on yourself. If an independent has done the job for about $1500 then I think $800 DIY is realistic if all you need to buy is the compressor.

But since this is covered under my power warranty I’ll let my dealer rip off FNA for $6k and not complain, ha.

On March 26, 2022 my 2013 458 Spider with 8738 miles was left at Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale by appointment for Service (1 recall, 1 Basic yearly service and to check a/c fan not working) almost 3 week later on April 16, 2022 the car was delivered. Accordingly to the Invoice it took 17 hours of labor (4 times the value of the part, the A/C FAN ) to determine the failure. It takes the Factory 3 weeks to assemble the whole car. As an Engineer, member of the Ferrari Community, Forums and Ferrari Chat for more than 25 years it makes no sense. Although the Service Consultant tried his best no customer should have to go thru this beat/diagnose and expense on an Air Conditioner issue not in the 21st Century, nor by Ferrari specially when the part could have been (and eventually it was) replaced max in a couple hours. Also valid to mention that the car service started a week later of the appointment date. The whole invoice was above $7,000.00.

This is why it’s best to just goto a respectable independent shop for all issues of you have a Ferrari with no warranty.

I am UK based I have a 2010 458 a/c was working fine then suddenly stopped and started blowing warm air. I can here a click and engine revs pick up at idle but still warm air. I have had it recharged it was low had 335g in when it should have 630g. The shop did a 40 minute vacuum test before they refilled and the machine said no leaks! The a/c seemes to work on the 15 minute trip home from the shop but when I took it out later that same day warm air again? I am thinking there is a leak in the compressor possibly which leaks whilst its running.

I am thinking if replacing the compressor myself and then taking for a refill again after replacing the compressor and filter

It sounds like solid thinking/troubleshooting. But, the parts are expensive, so I'm not sure I would gamble it. Since there is a high chance that you are correct in thinking that the leak only happens when the compressor is running, I'm thinking that if you/they look really closely at the compressor, there should be evidence of a leak. If there is, then I would be comfortable replacing it like you said. If there isn't evidence, I would probably give the shop another chance to investigate further before throwing parts at it randomly.
