I just got as new condenser since the old one was suspected of having a leak. I'm now attaching the two pipes that connect the condenser to the hoses. Problem is that threading on the pipe went great until it started getting tight. The pipe has a swivel that is still loose. I'm starting to put a lot of force on it but don't want to strip my new $600 condenser. Is there something I'm missing or doing wrong? It threaded fine for 1/2 dozen or so turns. Photo is on the "old" condenser.
    Any knowledge on this? Thanks.

Does it still thread back onto the old condenser fully? If not, the threads in the hard pipe might be stripped as was the case with one of my lines recently. I did not have a chaser that size so I had a rubber hose made to duplicate the hard pipe and it worked just fine. The hard pipes are available from our many vendors and they do fit better than my rubber hose.

Yes, it did go back on the original condenser with a little resistance. I think I may have figured it out. Might be some corrosion in the threads. I got a wooden cooking skewer and pushed the pointy side through the threads on the pipe. It pulled a little dirt out after I thought I cleaned them well. That must be what's binding it. One tube was very difficult to get off. It would turn, back and forth, about a 1/4 inch and I kept putting wd40 in it and the 1/4 inch turned into 1/2 inch and eventually unscrewed all the way. So, I believe now, that corrosion was the issue. I'll see tomorrow.
Thanks for the response. It was thread related (I think).
