Made an overhaule of the A/C console a month ago. Acc to the thread with the photos some nice person made available here.

Charged the battery with both connectors still on and now the console has gone to other hunting grounds.

    Any suggestions?

Haven´t checked the fuse yet because I just found out late yesterday but I hardly expect the fuse to burn of a 5A charge current.

    Thanks for any advise?

Mine played up once and my brother and I disconnected the plug off the rear of the climate control and left it open circuit for about 30 seconds, reconnected the plug and it tested ok, Hopefully yours will be just as easy ;)

What kind of a 'overhaule' did you do on yours

    Nice hearing from u again.

U know there is a thread of someone taking the console a part totally. Lots of photos included. "Rayman" is his nickname here. Don´t know his real name.

Anyway.......I had some problems last summer with the A/C. Working now and then only. E1 and E8 came up as well. Took it all apart this winter and it worked perfectly.

Charged the battery last week and bought one of those puls generating things and tested that one aswell.

Now, yesterday it was nice weather here I started the car and took it out in the sun just to let the engine warm up for half an hour or so. Then I found out the console was dead. No lights, no clock, no temp.......just dead.

Very strange if you ask me.

Whar happened with your A/C hose by the way? Changed it yet?

Hello B. Yeah mine did that also, just stopped working after I let it sit for about 4 weeks and the battery discharged, try the plug disconnect and let us know, still worth a shot.

Nah still blown, either myself or my brother will remove and replace the A/C hose,I guess it's whoever gets a chance to make the hose at work. I'll make sure I/we will take pics and Post them in a Thread in here for all to see. Winter time is soon approaching here so it's not a real issue, might even wait for the next Major Service to replace it so see how that shapes up.

No, the fuse for the A/C system isn't in either of the fuse panels, it's under the trunk liner on the side of the fresh air intake box.

No problems with the fuse(s). I did what Pap suggested. Cut out the powersupply for a min or two. It did work ok then. Switched off the engine and started again. Now I got E1 and E8 message........both sensors not working. Switched off again, cut the powersupply, started again and now it works ok.

What I have to do is probably go over all them sensors and clean the connectors, specially the ground one. Since the unit is working ok every now and then there is obviously no major problem as far as I can understand.

However, when i was reading the workshop manual yesterday they actually warn for a fast batterycharging. Unless you disconnect the battery of course.

Next week end is booked aparently. Have to find all those sensors and clean the connectors. Still no spring in sight so there is still time.

    Cheers,

    B
