    Men,
My A/C is cold, but always comes out of the defroster vents, no matter where I click the directional switch..
Any ideas, besides moving from Florida (sunshine) to Seattle (rain) where a good defroster is essential...
    Much Thanks
    Mike

The actuator that moves the tambour is probably busted. Part #12 in this diagram:

... or your AC ECU is shot. Which sadly on the F355 is not uncommon.

I had the same thing. Changed the actuator but still did not work. It was the $1600 A/C computer! Works fine now.

When I bought my 1997 355 spider in November 2004, I noticed I could get the air directed through all the vents except the defroster vents. I took the car back to Ferrari of Seattle for some diagnostics, and after 8+ hours of labor they fixed it. What they found was that Ferrari when assembling the dash, lines the interior of is with some sort of foil insulating material. It was never cut out for the defroster openings! So they had to take everything apart in order to access and trim the openings from inside the dash. FoS stood behind the car they sold me and did not charge me...I wonder if they ever got any reimbursement from FNA over that gaff? :(
