    Hey guys.My a/c starts out blowing cold air.Then after driving awhile it starts to blow hot air.You think I have a freon leak?Whats weird though is whenever I start the car up again it blows cold again.Any help appreciated.Thanks

    Compressor it sounds like. If it does blow cold at first, then the coolant is absorbing heat. It becomes heat saturated, expands and cannot accept any more. The compressor and pump circulates the coolant to the heat exchanger (radiator) then compresses the coolant so it is ready to absorb more heat. Sounds to me like either (1) you may need more coolant or (2) the system coolant is not circulating. Hmm, easy fix if you're lucky: check the belt to the A/C pump. Is it slipping?

    Now, if you turned it on and it never blew cold, that's more indicative of a coolant leak. The fact that it works at first tells me it's either a low coolant of coolant circulation issue.

    How long do you drive it before it starts to blow hot air?

    It could be either your air con belt slipping? your evaporator is freezing up like a block of ice, you have some debris in your air con system jamming open your TX valve. When was the last time your air con was serviced?

    It does not sound like you have a leak ;)

    I drive it about 10 min.or so.Whats funny is that when I picked it up at the mechanics it blew just fine on the highway.Which was about 25miles.Then a few days later when I tried to use it thats when I had the problem.Thanks for the advice.I'll check it and ket you know.Oh I forgot I had it serviced when it was at the shop.He added r-12 and said it was fine.
