I am utterly fed up with this rubbish and the way F1 treats its fans. Everything always seems to be directed at less and less for the fans, but the admission price doesn't go down does it? The stupid two-race engine rule means everyone does minimal laps. When I pay a huge amount of money to go to a GP I want to see the top drivers in the world going as fast as possible for as long as possible. The quotes in that article just go to show how out of touch the insiders in F1 really are - all they ever seem to do is head further and further down the wrong path rather than stepping back and saying 'is this right'. They need to be putting more action on the track not taking away even more of what little there is.

    Absolutely agree too.

I have a source that told me it costs more to develop 1x 1000km F1 engine than it does to make 3 or 4x 1 race (350km) engine and/or qualifying screamers...

Let 'em rip I say. I want every session to count for final grid positions too. No "installation" laps or BS cruising around... give the engineers/mechanics a test too.....

F1 is a TV sport right now, they NEED to do more ON TRACK to make it a spectator sport.

Melbourne actually has one of, if not THE, best support programs. Some of the other races are pretty dull out of F1 session times.

I forgot to add to my initial post that this is how I feel too. They should scrap this 2 engine rule and let the drivers go out and hit it as hard as thy can.I think that with Fri and Sat first practice the 3rd driver should practice and the 2nd practice it should be the main drivers.I would also like to say that I'm a big fan of Anthony Davidson. He is a brilliant driver and watching him in Malaysia was great.I wonder when a team will pick him up as a 1st driver

What I find frustrating is the way BernieCo allows his arguments to ebb and flow in support of his current agenda. When circuit-based revenues are on the table, track-side attendance and amenities are of utmost importance. When establishing policy, TV viewership steps to the forefront. They cry about mounting expenses, so they re-write the engine formula!

F1 is about as exclusionary as you can get. There is only so much time for a$$ kissing, so start with the highest bidders. That leaves the fans pretty much out here on our own, safely on the other side of the catch fencing.

I still say that the teams that are allowed a 3rd test car should be allowed to qualify the car. Either expand the field, or create a little intra-team competition by saying any 2 of the drivers can qualify. Besides, if they truly want parity, then why not allow lower-tiered teams an extra bullet for scoring points. Say, you could run 3 cars but only the top 2 score.

I've heard more than once the aggregate development cost of the V8's was a billion dollars. I would have rather they put restrictors on the V10's and get rid of the dissapointing one engine rule. Race cars use engines and tires, don't restrict them. Let the Friday runners do lots of laps, that's why you go to Friday practice. Hell, maybe they should have a Friday afternoon 10 lap sprint race with all the Friday test drivers.
