    Broken impellers and poor cooling might be a new water pump issue. There are reports that the clearance of impeller to pump body may be too tight or too loose. This gap needs to be checked. In the past I have always relied on the WP maker to do his job right. I have been lucky just bolting WP's on and checking that they spin freely. It now appears that makers are eyeballing the clearance so now we need to check them to make sure we are not breaking impellers causing overheating or having too big of a gap causing poor cooling.

    Despite 40 years of DIY Ferrari wrenching all this is new to me so we will see what develops.
