Come on out and bring the friends! I got 10lbs of chicken wings. Email the SV .com site and ask your registration? My guess is yes no problem. They might say they are pretty full so sign up now. but the reality is that people go home in the afternoon and someone always breaks their car and goes home so there is always plenty of time to run.

Thanks FBB. Looking forward to meeting you guys. And, of course, to seeing what my car is like on an autocross course. Btw, this sounds like more fun than the SCCA stuff I ran years ago, because between the cone cleanup and all the different run groups, was mostly a day of hanging around, not running.

    Info from the SV website:

Auto Club Speedway is located at 9300 Cherry Ave., Fontana, CA 92335. Please enter through the main gate off Cherry Avenue. The event is located INSIDE the Speedway. Please enter the facility off Cherry Ave. and tell the guard you are going to Speed Ventures. You will circle around the Speedway to the south and enter through the tunnel to get to the interior.

Drivers DO NOT have to work and will get unlimited runs on course (typically 10-20 runs)!

A light-based timing system will be working, but we will not log the times, so you will need to write them down yourself at the end of your run.

The course will open at 9am and close at 5pm. **********You may show up whenever you want. ******** Please go to Garage 2 in the interior of the Speedway, for registration.

My 308QV is Euro (2875lbs) and supercharged (375+/-bhp),2.5" race exhaust, adj coilovers, stiff springs, lowered. Upgraded brakes (Porterfield) and hydraulics. Cornerweighed and cambered suspension tuning for track, brand new Bridgestone pole positions, or Hoosier slicks (as needed). Very "tossable" car.

Now , if I could just learn how to drive it well ;-)

I Hate it when Miatas kick my a$$, I'm on a mission !!!

We are gonna have a good day, bruddahs !!!

Hey, I'll bring my suction cup mount video system. If anyone wants to borrow it for a run or 2, just bring a miniDV tape. You can mount on rear window, inside windsheild, or outside on fender (add ductape for saftey).

I have arrived to a Speed Ventures autocross day a little late, talked to Aaron Bitterman, get registered, pay $80, and get in line at the autocross.

It is definitely much more relaxing that the SCCA autocross events. No work assignments, much more laps.

I'm registered for the autocross as well.

Looking forward to meeting you guys, and hoping to get some good course run tips, as i've only tracked a couple times, and never done autocross.

    I am bringing dessert.

I will be there about 8am for car prep/registration/course walk. Look for the Red Pepper Racing Team, a group centered around a red Eazy Up. We will be featuring a few Hondas, a few Miatas, a Datsun 510 and...?

For those who show up late, there will be a course walking opportunity during lunch break.

    I'm excited to do this.

I also plan to show up around 8ish. My wife+kids will probably come later to watch. They can bring an easy-up if needed.

Is there anything else you'd like me to bring for the BBQ?

    Dom

Excellent bring anything you like...its a party!

I have about 10lbs of chicken wings which are spicy with Frank's hotsauce. So if the kids or anyone else wants something else bring it along and we can cook it up. I'll have an easyup and about 4 chairs. another easyup is a good idea too since the sun can be brutal out there but the weather is supposed to be nice. I think there is NO alcohol at the track however but not a good idea if driving anyway.

I know some of you have been on fast tracks before and there is also the option to go on the full road race course too...check the speedventures.com site if anyone wants to do both. Sometimes by sunday afternoon the road course emptys out as people break and go home and more time might open up on the road course if it looks full right now.

I haven't decided yet ... I have oil pressure problems on right handers with my 308 the way I push it so I'm tempted to take the P car ... unless do you have any say in the track layout? How twisty does SV set 'em up? ... SCCA in San Diego I think sets up there tacks to limit speeds to 60 mph ... with the P club the fast guys will see 100 mph in the same parking lot.

Here's some video from the infield at Fontana in my 308 ... chasing a P turbo and a 360. I ran Coronado a few months ago also and molested some guy in a 360 Stradale enough that he finally out braked himself and I passed ... FUN!!! ... but I really need a dry sump :). One of these days I'll get that video up.

    cheers

Sean, cool ! Long time no see.

I can't believe you have that oil pressure issue. I did the sump baffle on my QV, and I run a 1/2 qt overfull on the track, no pressure loss (even on the WSIR skid pad at mega lateral G). SV runs a pretty tight course (at least the last time @ Fontana). IIRC I was running to the top of 2nd gear near redline, a shift to 3rd and back to 2nd was a waste of time, too much footwork, too tight. A couple of long right hand sweepers in the begining and at the end, otherwise low speed tight stuff, chican, slalom.

Bring the Ferrari, its Fchat party day man !

On the SV course I think the max speeds were about 60-70 but I can't remember. It is a 40-50 second course? I second RVID on the 1/2 to 1 qt over. That seems to solve lots of issues. RH sweepers were a known 308 issue but I don't think auto-x should be an issue due to fast transients, but I'm not sure. Your P is very nicely set-up I'd love to bring them both! Either way it will be great to see you.
