For those who have seen the race and know the result I could not help but be astounded as to the poor demeanour of all three drivers on the podium. Never before in sport have I seen an awards presentation where the award recipients looked as disinterested as today in Brazil. No one looked at all genuine and all the drivers actions looked to be forced. I'm sure all kinds of justifications can be given for why each driver behaved as they did however, in my mind, any justification is more than likely fairly weak. Formula 1 needs some more personalities. Like him or hate him, at least Michael Schumacher looked pleased to be on the podium even when he lost. All the drivers today looked like spoiled kids.

Well Kimi is a robot mostly, Felipe lost his win in front of his home crowd and Alonso lost the title, what do you want?

Another way to look at it is as follows:

    1. Kimi achieves his life ambition
    2. Felipe helps his TEAM score an unlikely come from behind win.
    3. Alonso just saw Hamilton LOSE the title

For each driver in their own way there was cause for celebration all round.

The highly choreographed FIA podium ceremony seemed to be intentionally ignored by the drivers; Kimi swigging the champagne as soon as he hopped up to the podium and Masa stepping down and walking to the edge of the balcony before Alonso even received his trophy..........like I've said before, I'm happy to see this F1 season in my rear view mirror ;)

Keep in mind - Alonso is classified 3rd, BEHIND Hamilton: not so great.

Anyone notice Petronas president's formal outfit? Or the other guy that didn't know the difference between Massa and Alonso? :/

In Kimis defence, he did show more joy in the paddock during the interview....i would give him the benefit of the doubt that it didnt sink in...and even worse now, we have that BMW mess that could make this even worse....if you ask me, he still hasnt got much to be happy about. It was a bad year, a tainted one in F1 all the way around. I dont think anyone winning the Championship would have smiled as much. But they are ungrateful the bunch of them.

Kimi shows more excitement wasted at the rippers with his pants around his ankles than after winning the WDC.

Probably had something to do with F1 making the announcement to the top 3 last week of no excessive celebrations or candid emotion (personal comments in light of the season or gloating), just a theory. You know these guys are gonna party it up, somewhere this week after the press has moved on. They're just getting through the formalities and over with this season..

Haha! So this is the thread where all the Kimi bashers will congregate now! Good thing you all have a home now, so maybe you can stop posting this nonsense in all the other threads. I guess it's a good thing for Raikkonen none of you were in charge of podium presentations... Would you have DQ'ed him from the race for his pre-song swig?

At least in my case I am not bashing Kimi. He did a fine job and deserves the title. I'm bashing the whole lot of them. On the podium they were entirely unimpressive.

They aren't paid to be impressive on the podium. Kimi just won a hard fought and contentious WDC (his first). Screw the FIA and anybody else who would deprive him of the swig of bubbly he took.

Massa just got beaten in a race he wanted to win. He has never been a gratious loser so his puss shouldn't have been a surprise. Alonso just lost the WDC as did Hamilton, I wouldn't have expected him to be beaming either.

I usually fast forward through the awards presentation since (other than the formality of issuing awards) it has nothing to do with the race and is as contrived as F1 can get.

    Well Kimi is Kimi
Massa looked very sad and Alonso had no reason to be over the top happy.

I'm glad LH didn't win, Kimi has paid his dues...

But I did laugh when Speed TV repeated a quote about Kimi's lack of emotion "Kimi is dead from the feet up"

... I don't know why, but that made me laugh.

I am amazed. Were we watching the same podium? Kimi has never looked happier and for some reason Alonso couldn't stop smiling. Watch it again. He cooled it during the presentations but before that he looked so happy that Hamilton didn't win.

Can you believe this guy, complaining about a podium ceremony? We've just finished the most exciting, most ridiculous and most entertaining F1 season in ages. All because Mr M. Schumacher isn't driving. Now he wants Michael to come back so he can watch him jump up in the air.

Michael's great, but he almost killed the sport.

What is this? The man who doesn't speak bull**** and doesn't tell non-filled promises, but does the work and wins the World Championships by driving fastest laps throught the race and there is somebody crying about after ceremony?
Kimi is so Finnish in his behaviour. Bull**** promises and no delivery is the worst you can do in Finland. Quiet humble work and a great delivery and you are the hero!
And that is what he is with his extremely fabulous Ferrari team!!! _0_ An excellent sample of the non finishing concentration: no podium before the last flag of the season has settled.
This is the beginning of the new era, so the crying babies can get used to it... in the WRC people has already got used to it, 13 out of 28 of all WC:s has won by The Flying Finns, in F1 only 4 of them, but there will be more: Kimi, Heikki and Nico (even if he is driving with German licence because of marketing reasons) will do their best...
The best thing for us in Finland is that Kimi is driving Ferrari, we can keep thumbs up for just the one now!

One view on the podium - Interlagos is one of the most physically demanding races of the year (due to being anticlockwise), and with the extra mental pressure of the title I expect they were all knackered!

I thought Kimi was over the moon.........for Kimi. In the meantime, if you wanted to have a fun night out with an F1 driver, Kimi should probably be at the top of the list!
