I installed the alarm module today. The new module from (GM 15213135; $70.89/each) works like a charm.

The alarm replacement/installation steps are as follows:
    1) open the front hood
    2) turn off the battery switch
    3) unscrew and remove the central panel
    4) unscrew and remove the driver's side panel
    5) peel off the right side of the protective layer (the alarm module is on the right)
    6) unscrew, unplug and remove the old alarm module
    7) plug in and mount the new alarm module
    8) turn on the battery switch
    9) test the alarm by arming and disarming it using remote
    10) place back the protective layer and assemble the pannels (remember, that the side pannel goes back first) and close the hood.

NB! If the alarm goes into the "panic mode" - don't panic yourself, just press the remote button to switch the panic mode off.

I also installed my newly arrived GM Parts alarm module today. It does work like a charm and does the correct beeping and light flashing when being armed and disarmed.

The only problem is that my dash red LED warning light is still permanently on when driving the car. This was one of the original fault symptoms and I did request assistance on this forum many months ago re this permanent light problem There must still be some sensor/input to the alarm module that is keeping the warning light permanently lit after startup.

    Any suggestions anyone???

I have the usual 360 Modena alarm siren fiasco! Battery leaked and corroded board. As Ferrari rips us off with a £250 bill for a siren that only sells for a few pounds from Bosch and Bosch will not supply direct to the customer I thought it was worth a try with the GM one.I ordered it through Lookers of Liverpool and was charged £40.17 with vat and postage. It is Vauxhall part no.15213135 and fits the Vauxhall Antara. It retails at £33.81, is made in Australia and has been shipped to GM via Russelsheim in Germany and distributed by GM Daewoo Auto @ Technology in Korea! So it is manufactured in the same plant as the "Ferrari part" and still only costs £33 when sold in the UK.It is externally identical but has the Bosch no.F005v00654 instead of F005v00088 stamped on the case together with the GM no instead of Ferrari no 177148.
Fitting was easy and it beeped upon connection. The car starts and runs ok and the dash light goes out.(worth the money just for that alone!) However,no alarm when triggered with door open or holding "panic button" for 20secs,although the light flashes rapidly. However,I turned off the master switch and the alarm fired and ceased by pressing the remote button! Nothing else seems to activate alarm except putting the key in ignition and trying to start .However, this only works once unless I turn off the master switch and reset the alarm. So,the light is off on the dash but I cannot get the alarm to work.I guess there is a subtle difference in the board or wiring but still worth the money me thinks and I don't feel violated by paying £250!
Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

Just ordered my GM alarm since the circuit board on my OEM is toast - will report back when I get it to see if it works!

I installed the replacement GM alarm siren which works fine until....you turn the main battery cut off switch, at which point the siren goes to panic mode. Anyone encountered this?

Frenchie- A 575M owner in Australia just discovered the same thing. The alarm ECU is probably programmed to set off the alarm if the power is cut and the alarm/immobilizer is armed and there is a slight difference in logic between the Vettes and the Ferraris. Try and disarm the immobilize with your remote and see if that cures the problem. Ferrari immobilizers arm 60 seconds after you turn off the engine and open the door or 120 seconds after you disarm the immobilizer and do not start the car.

Thanks Taz, I'll give it a shot - as you point out I may have tried to turn it off while the alarm was armed.

Frenchie- Did not work for the 575M, either. With the internal battery, he disconnected and removed his and it still went off not even in the car. Some difference in the internal logic.

Nobody else has had this problem?

Brian- The F430 and 612 introduced a modern alarm system and key/fob system. The one on Ferraris through the 575s is an 80s technology system first introduced on the Motronic 5.2 cars (355, 456) in the mid-90s.

I wonder what it means when the red led does not come on? Rather than staying lit.

Install my siren today. siren chirped when I plug it in (even with the main power off). Turned main swith back on and red light was off in car. But the unit does not Beep when I arm and disarm. When I turned the main power back off, the siren went off.
I guess there must be some differance in the wires.
but for $75.00 i got the interior light off...

Very strange... The installation of this replacement siren in my car went without any glitches and the whole system is functioning as new! I can arm it (one beep), disarm it (two beeps) to start the engine, etc.

With my euro I did notice that if I unplug the siren module it wails for about 30 seconds or so. I guess the logic it uses is that if power to the siren unit only is disconnected, somebody must be trying to steal the car... and thus it goes off as a precaution. Mine gives me one and two beeps when locking and unlocking car with fob.

My view.. for the price.. can't beat it. :)

What if you cut off the battery with the main switch? does the siren go off? That's my issue, since a regularly use the cut off switch when not using the car for extended time. The rest of the functions work fine, but if main power is off, siren goes off - not good.

Noticed that as well.. cutting off power will occasionally cause the silly siren to beep. Different circuitry I guess.... :-(
Perhaps try ebay or corvette recyclers for a cheap temporary..

But in my case, the red LED on the dash comes back on again after the car is started. Every other function is good. I have asked for help on this problem a number of times before on this forum but no-one has responded.

    Any ideas please???

Just a wild guess.., are you sure that you had not accidently bent those contact pinns when plugging in the electrical connector in the back of the siren module? Those are easily bent and would bend down into the contact cavity.... This may explain the loss of some functionality... Otherwise, I have no idea.... Mine works perfectly....
