I have a couple of interior questions I was hoping you guys could help me with on my '99 355 spyder.

First, behind the seats, attached to the carpet, are two metal panels covered in leather. Mine have stitching where the flat meets the angle. A friend of mine has the same year 355 and his panels are just stretched leather, no stitching. Which is correct???

Second, Does anyone know what is the proper foam densitiy and thickness for the different interior parts of the car? What I am looking for are specifications such as: Top of the dash 1/4" thick open cell foam, top of the door 1/8" closed cell foam, etc.

    Thanks for your help!!!

    Thanks for the replies.

Are both of your interiors factory??? Strange that Ferrari would build every car different.

    Anyone Else?

That is interesting. I didn't know that either. Mine were stretched and I have a 97. I'm going to look at a stitched one next time I'm around some 355's.

I did not know that either ..... .............. the 95-97 'stretched' leather cars are faster because they do not have all that extra thread to weight the car down .....

Yeah, me too. If it comes to speed and weight reduction the stooges are on it. Goth, you will be happy to know that even though I am not buying pipes from you right now for my 348, I am installing Hill Engineering Bearings/Tensioners that save me about 1.5 pounds over the stock ones. Sooo, either I can install those to save weight, or just pass on the extra KFC Snacker tomorrow and get the same effect - LMAO!

Well is seems as if I am a bit lucky, The entire interior leather appears to be factory, with exception of the seats and the upper right door by the window...now I have the proper foam types.

Thanks again for all of your help guys, have a good weekend!
