Hi from Pittsburgh. I have purchased an exceptionally clean and well serviced 2001 360 Modena, last complete service was at 17,000 miles and some more for sundry things at 18,000 during which the car was extensively inspected and found to be in excellent condition, motor and everything else. Has 19,000 miles on it today.

A couple of questions, sorry if they've been discussed before:

    1. With the F1 transmission, every now and then when changing to neutral at stop lights (foot on brake, it will stay in neutral despite anything I do with the paddle. Won't go to 1. Foot off brake foot back on, stays in neutral. Very embarrassing at a stop light. Turn car off and on, still stays in neutral. Only got it going by switching to reverse, then to 1. Then back to my quiet street where I experimented with it and I couldn't get it to do it again. Foot on brake, switched to 1 normally. Is this a known problem? I checked, all the fluids are normal and otherwise the transmission shifts well.

    2. This car has a an aftermarket clutch installed at 17,000. It's said by the previous owner to be a little more "grabby" than he'd like and I have found that to be true. It grabs in first going into second and all the rest of the gears are a little clunky. However, I am a very sedate driver and I'm not driving very fast. When I do drive fast and the engine really revs up, it isn't as noticeable. If I let off the gas when pulling the right paddle to upshift, it seems a little less clunky. Apparently I'm not supposed to do that. Will it hurt the transmission if I do?

    Thanks in advance.

See if you can get this moved to the 360/430 section so those guys can address your concerns.
