A few friends and I went to the kart track in Selma on Saturday. I didn't really get any good action shots of the karting, but I thought I'd share the photos I did take anyways.
I had a lot of fun! Thanks to Wes for organizing it.

They have some that do 40 mph and some that do 65 mph. We were using the one that do 65. They have an endurance chassis and a 9hp Honda motor.
You can buy shifter karts that do 145, but they are limited by the course, of course.

Yeah, i've ridden one of the faster shifters that a friend had, scared the piss outta myself on a temp. lot course that was being used for a media day for Ford. When I called those folks before, they were saying how you had to ride the smaller ones prior to the others, just curious....That would be a blast to do all day if the weather would just drop a little, lol.

It isn't the most well organized place, but we'll probably give them another chance. The track here in Austin is far better when it comes to organization. Also the Austin track provides all the racing equipment for free. They have fire suits, neck protection, gloves, helmets socks and helmets, all for free. The one in Selma doesn't even have fire suits, neck protection or gloves and they charge like 2 or 5 dollars for using one of their helmet socks.

Several karts messed up on us and it took them about 45 minutes to fix a barrier after one guy went through it. Also, the guy forgot to press the button and time us during out last race.

On their website it says that they specialize in group and corporate events, well that's far from the truth.

All and all we had a great time, but it could have gone much smoother.

I'd have to agree, was a lil' disappointed in the organizational skillz they had. Oh well, maybe I'll let him go broke, buy it cheap and then we'll be there every week-end...

Great pics Mike, glad you made it out!

Hey C.Monkey, I had to make love to the wheel... was a lil cramped on that thing. Besides I was so far ahead I was bored...

lol Wes....Wondering what ever happened to you, hadn't heard from ya' in a while!.....I bet you were bored at the back ehem...front of the pack, lol...Well, I guess I'll save my time and money for the Austin track(got a link or contact info Mike?)....Nice group of cars, What did you take out there Wes? Didn't see a 40(not referring to a beverage, lol) or Mini....

Next time, I'll hold the gate open while Wes leads the kart pack in and around the parking lot...lol

Rode shotgun in the Lambo...sounded like a champ..pretty cool for an Audi.

Everyone that is interested in Kart racing, send me a private message with your e-mail. We are working on a FCA event...

San Antonio vs. Austin vs. Houston...so we could even do Dallas too. Should be fun!

If you don't mind a handful of Viper guys jumping into the fracas, let me know. Quite a few of us have 125cc shifters, so the newb factor is pretty minimal.
