    Very cool.

Quick question, if you don't mind. It is my understanding that the 430 challenge cars are easier to control at 10/10's than the 360 cars. A tech, for example, told me early on that they made the rear of the 430 just a tad softer than the 360. Is there any truth to that?

If you are talking both cars, with no wing/splitter, then yes. 430 easier, 360 tricky at limit.

But a wing and splitter transforms a 360C from car that is trickly into a car that feels like the hand of god is holding it to the road. Unbelievable car, actually IMHO easier to drive than a 430 even with W/S combo.

430 has more power so you need to respect it more. Also 430 with smaller fronts needs to be set up right or it will push.

    Cannot go wrong with either.

But don't buy Paul's please, we don't want to loose him!!!!!!!!

I agree with John's assessment. I moved from a 360 to a 430 and he's right that the increased torque and HP takes you to speeds at various places on track that may have been flat before and now you have to breath a little or at least set up the turn differently. The front end push he talks about is also a cause for eye-rolling but again, can be managed and tweaked with different shock/spring combos and rake angle.

John, I'm very bummed that this time has come. My last two years with CCR has been the greatest time in my 15-year trek from a 308QV to 355c to 360c to 430c. I won't be gone for long. I'll probably take a year off and then see what happens then. :)

Thanks for the info, but don't worry. I just brought a Playboy MX-5 Cup car to see if I can get my mojo back.

But if I ever do find it, I just might, I just might jump back in the race. Several years ago, I came this close to buying Mandy's 360, which apparently was the only car that had not had a major get off.

Until then, I really do appreciate you keeping the faith. Damn, I sure love to hear Ferraris run at the track.
