Hello everyone, I am new here. Hope this message finds you all well. Anyway I would like to have your opinion/idea/advice about my issue. I bought an used 2018 GTC4LUSSO on Dec 26, 2018 from Ferrari of Austin, Texas and been waiting for the title until Mar 6, 2019 the dealer told me that their Ally Bank had lost the title so they started the process of getting a duplicate title from the State of Texas. I really don’t know if the duplicate title will depreciate value of the car significantly or hurt a car history or not? Please advise. I appreciate all your input. Thank you so much. Kindly, Nod

A duplicate or replacement title will most likely show on a car history report. If you know the story and can explain it to a future buyer it should be a non issue but keep in mind high end buyers tend to be the most picky of anyone and will nit pick every flaw and possible wrinkle in the cars history because they can. Is it going to cost you 25% hit upon resale, no but a couple grand or scare off some buyers (wasted time) once they see it..probably yes. Its sad but true

Should not cause you any trouble except for the delay in having the paper.

You can insist that th dealer prepare a letter or something else to document/explain what happened.
I can’t imagine a paperwork snafu being a big deal though.

    No change in value.

I just did this on a Mercedes I sold. It happens all the time.
